Eotech 512 on a flat top

Hello folks. I am wanting to purchase an Eotech 512 for my flat top Ruger AR556. It has a foldable rear sight and a fixed front sight. Will the view on the Eotech 512 clear the front sight completely?

Ideally, it should co-witness with your iron sights.

Nope, and you don't want it to either.

What you want to be able to do is see the front sight in the EOTech's window...either in absolute co-witness or lower third co-witness...so you can use it should it be needed

Eotech will co-witness perfectly on a flat top without any riser. It makes a very nice setup.

If you can swing it seriously consider the newer XPS models. From what Ive heard it completely gets rid of the battery terminal problems.
