eotech sight

I have the EOTech 552 on two of my AR's. Very quick sight acquisition with the big circle plus the small dot is accurate on 200yd targets.

I have aimpoint, ACOG, and eotech on various type of platforms, but when it comes to CQB usage, the EOTECH is without equal. Plus you save money on mounts and lens reflection killers.

Take this with a dose of salts- I have have never shot with one. I did notice , at the gun show, looking thru it from a dark room at the bright outside, that the reticle washed out. Also the dot was a bit fuzzy. And of course you need to turn it on and it needs batteries. My vote is the Russian PKAS black dot/red dot at half the price. Pick it up, it is ready to go. I moa dot inside a large ring, if you need it lit up just turn the ring. Is available with a weaver base for piccatiny rails. Works fine in black dot mode with no batteries.

EOTechs are great, in my opinion. Really superb for close range work and pretty good for longer range work (out to usual engagement sort of ranges).

I don't know if you tried, but did you crank up the brightness to the full level? It's not dependant on the environment you're in (ie a optic fiber), but rather what it is projected on. The EOTech can get very bright, bright enough that even under normal viewing, the reticle can "bloom" noticably.

When using the EOTech, you don't focus your eyes on the reticle itself, which would seem blurry. You use both eyes to superimpose the reticle on the target and it works. As well, you reduce the brightness a bit because it's possible some of the "blur" might be an overly powerful reticle blooming. The central dot is very sharp when the brightness level is adjusted optimally for the target. Also its been reported that if you have any sort of astigmatism or optical abberations in your eye, it can skew the holographic display.

The battery life isn't insane like the Aimpoints which are pushing 80k hours on some models, but its still a reasonable 1000+ with easier battery formats to find (AA, CR123, and N)

As hinted, I do own an EOTech (552F) and I like the reticle and wide window. It's very fast with the large ring so you can't loose close targets, and the 1MOA dot gives you more precision not available in the 2 or 4MOA Aimpoints.

I like them too. Commonly sitting atop my AR's. Built like a tank, co-witnesses with iron sights easily.

+1.

I love my old Bushnell Holosight, which is the same thing, minus the aluminum. By far, it is the best close range optic I have found yet.

I love it for close stuff. I would buy another without question.

I did get the long one so I could use cheaper AA batteries but I like the length of the other one better. If I had it to do again I'd get the short one with lithium batteries.

i have one on my ar and i love it i think they are the best red dots on the market that is why i have one on my personal ar. i have nothing but great things to say about them. i don't use mine for extreme cqb for that i use the front sight post only. but 25 to 50yds the red dot is awesome, and the 1 moa dot is a big plus, for when shooting at extended ranges.

I have three and all have been great. I give a high recommendation for them.

I have 2 - one on my RRA middy & the other on my 9mm AR & love'm both. Quick on target & follow up shots, easy to mount & sight in...I like'm ALOT :D

Yep, I like my 552 very well. On a side note: The NV capability is very useful for NV goggles/monoculars, works well, but a little tough to get a sight picture quicky with the goggles on head gear. I use it as a backup to an IR laser. I have fashioned an elevation adjustment knob on mine, and can happily hit steel out to 500 yards, very fun:D

Mine lives on my AK. I prefer the Aimpoint for the .223 and .308, But it is PERFECT on the Ak.

I like AA's (Batteries, cheaper and you can use rechargables/solar recharger) and recomend GG&G throw levers for WHATEVER optic.

I have a 552 on a RRA Dominator mount on my M4, I like it. :)

Cheaptrick:
What's the brand name on that lower? The script is a little hard to read.
