”Mauser is flawless has all military proof marks comes with padded soft case and 2 boxes ammo. Will take revolver With $200”

There’s a guy wanting to trade his for one of my $300 revolvers +$200 so I guess $500 total. Seems pretty high especially for something that’s sporterized but I’m not super familiar with it and the value.

Don't know what kind of revolver, but he should be trading the Mauser and giving you $50-$100. If it were a custon build, maybe, but it's a military configuration in a relativelly inexpensive sporter stock. Depending on bore condition, that is about a $250 rifle, IMHO. You can't even return it to it's military configuration, it has been drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

Walk away quickly.

If this is really an 7.92x57 small ring M98, it may have started life as a WWI K98a. That makes the bubba-ing especially hurtful -- owning one in this condition might set you up for some bad juju!

It is.
Theres no reciver ring step-down to the side rail.
And the 98 style bolt cocking piece. Its a butchered carbine.

Run. He's looking for a sucker.

Thought so. Thanks for all the info everyone.I definitely ran away from that guy.
