I was off , the gun
felt heavier than the ham so my guestimate is 2lbs.
But I guess that's not American enough?
Just microwave it until you start to see signs of excessive pressure.
Then next time you will know to back it off a tenth.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
That's.. literally what I suggested in the very first reply.
When I read that I immediately had visions of the witch scale scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail .
An ingenious way of comparing weights there OP.
That's how you weigh live critters, not dead ones.
That is exactly the principle in use at grain elevators. The incoming truck is weighed, goes to the truck dumper and dumps the grain, then weighs on the way out. The difference is the weight of the grain.
When I saw the title of this thread, I assumed you were gonna Cerakote the Ruger.........
The only way to make Christmas ham is in the crock pot. I did a spiral cut on Christmas Day, IIRC it was 6 lbs. Put it in the pot, put a cup of brown sugar, a cup of real maple syrup, and a cup of brown mustard on top. Every hour or so, I basted the top with this solution. Perfect.
i kept looking all it had was a unit price of 19.99 and it had a jar of glaze ( which adds weight) with it and it definitely was not a pound. just a fun thing to do since i could easily look up the weight of the gun.
Thats a good idea. I'm going to cook my next ham that way. The hams are already cooked. They really just need to be warmed back up.
