That made me cry. Almost.

But it did make me mad at HK....again :cuss:

Anyone surprised that HK wants no competition? Even from antiquated guns that may have actually lived up to their hype, been functional for a huge number of years, or have earned the sellers a lot of money?:fire:

Medusa - I did a search but missed your thread, sorry for the repost and thanks for the additional background. Veeeeery interesting about HK. :scrutiny:

Nah Sven, don't worry. It's good to recycle some themes from time to time, especially since the dust has settled and additional info has been added in the meanwhile.

weve done the same

reminds me of back in 90 when our unit had to trade in our .45's for 9mm,we cleaned them all (250)locked them back in the metal cases, then they took them down to fort knox and smashed them flat in a press.since 1950 they were only taken out maybe twice a year to clean then put back into the arms room, when we qualified we only took the first 75 out in the stock line, the rest in all that time never left the building.some were just your garden variety 1911a1''s,rem rand, ithaca, but toward the end of the line we had some pre-war commercial colts, union switch and signal, and some sweet national match, all in 98% or better.

Soapbox mode on

I may get waaaayyyy flamed for this, but I am a big boy and won't cry to my momma ( at least not without a bunch of tissues to dab my eye);)

So...Here goes:

I believe that we all should support the NRA. I know, I know...there are a million reasons not to. But, millions reason too belong. I do not want to see something like this happen here..EVER!!! I am a 35 year old and have been a member for about 12-14 years. I cowboyed up a few years back and took advantage of there Charlie Heston become a life member for a reduced rate. Even the reduced rate was hard financially at the time. But, I believed in the cause and never want to have this here. This summer, I signed up my daughter(15 years old) for a life membership. I am in the process of signing up 2 of my God-Children. Is it expensive = Heck yes! Is it worth it......it is to me!
Do what you can to afford it and sign up. Skip a couple of pizzas, buy 2 less cases of beer, drive a few miles less, etc. The price we may end up paying...may be far higher.

Side note: On our hunting trip this past weekend, my daughter and I watched "Saving Private Ryan". My daughter had a lot of questions, and we had a great discussion. She asked how these young men could do what they did, how could they gather the courage to go on? I was hard pressed to give a good answer. I finally said "These young men thought so much of our country and its people, that they were willing to fight and die so that you and I can enjoy the rights and freedoms that we have today. This is why I signed you up for the NRA. They are fighting for our right and freedom to bear arms." I explained the Purple Heart, and that these are the people who signed your Legacy Life Membership Certificate. Needless to say, this child had a brand new understanding of rights and freedom!

Sorry for the rambling.................

Mr. Tettnanger

Tett, I hate to be the one to break it to ya, but this did go on in our country.:(

Bill Clinton feed Captain Crunch tens of thousands of firearms and destroyed tens of millions of rounds of ammunition until the Republicans won in '94. Clinton II cannot wait to have her turn but she just won't be feeding it governmental surplus.:uhoh:

Someone on these gun boards is quoted saying ; " Fear the government that fears an armed people " or something like that, disarming a people is a prerequisite for tyranny. You anti's out there need to think past your brain washing for a minute. ;)

The Tokerevs I could stomach to watch crushed (use the metal to make better guns IMO ) but the Maks and the Colts thats just plain wrong.

I take it you've never fired 7.62x25 out of a real Russian or Polish TT-33, then, with the fireball and stunning target penetration results.

The Mak is a weak popgun in comparison, with a neutered 9mm round. Don't be dissing Toks. :neener:
