Ever look to make sure no one saw what you did

Several months back I bought a Knight T-blot 50 CAL muzzel loader that I did'nt need or really want. But for $80.00 why no! Over the months I have checked it out and its in great condition even has the breech block changed to handle the 209 shotgun primers. Today on the way from doctors visit (normal Monday) stopped at a new pawnshop to check it out. While I was there told the owner that I was looking for mostly black powder guns and items in that line. Only thing he had was a new box of Hodgon 777 50/50 pellets. Wondering as to the delay rate from squeezing the trigger to fire I thought I'd give it a black try. So I put one 50/50 pellet down the bore, light block over the pellet to make sure it don't fall out and load up the 209primer. Pointed it across my drive way ( I live way out in the sticks so no danger of neighbors). Pull the trigger and super fast fire and the pellet was burning except the pellet was more like a firework display. Guess I needed a firmer packing on top of the pellet. But did get the answer is NOW when the trigger is pulled. Had to do a quick head turn to see if anyone saw what I did. Maybe this will be my bonehead stunt of the year. Looks like this is one of those that will be back on the for sale market

You could have loaded it with a patched round ball and given that a try.

When I screw up, I spin it and tell people that it was a demo of some things NOT to do. If I have the forethought to say,"For my next trick..by the way, don't do this either."

Arcticap, in the box of 50/50 pellets instruction pamphlet was a statement that said "these pellets are not to be used with a Patch & Ball". Only thing I could reason about that was the ball would not seat firmly against powder. Forgot to mention when the primer fired not only did it light the pellet but the powder pellet was launched like a bottle rocket spewing fire and tumbling.

I never heard that about 777 pellets before.
But then there's Pyrodex pellets for use with balls in revolvers and seating the balls aren't an issue with them.
And both Pyrodex and 777 pellets are made by Hodgdon.
