It's a European avilable design, but the rifles sold through CZ-USA are also 100% European made. :) Nice rifle, odd caliber, wonder how it got imported.

An old ZKK 600. I have one in .30-06. Nice gun, but I restocked mine with a laminated wood stock.

...It's not sold through cz usa, the seller says it is not cz import. also if you look closely at it, there are no import markings, nor anything say Kansas City on it; you do however see cyrillic markings on the bbl by the receiver, and even the serial number lettering/numbering looks a little 'czech' ish, shall we say. Plus all the markings appear to be rolled/stamped in, not stencilled.

It is a beautiful rifle to be sure, but I am not sure what the fuss is about. I believe that CZ bolt actions are all made overseas.

If the rifle is marked "Czech Republic" (which has only existed since 1993), than the rifle is post-68 and will have an import mark on it somewhere. Not to nitpick, but the Czechs don't use the Cyrillic alphabet.

Addict, have you looked into scoping your VZ-24? I'm assuming that yours, like mine, has a rear sight with its lowest elevation at 300m. Needless to say mine shoots high any closer than that. I have seen a few scope mounts that go where the rear sight is, wondering if you knew anything about this process and maybe a good choice for a long eye relief scope. Thanks!

7x64 = .280 rem.

I had a Euro style sporter built in 30-'06 and had the smith stamp the barrel 7.62x63 just for good measure.

I've had a couple of CZs from the late 1940s and early 1950s. The ones made for export had the ring mounts like the new CZs (which I hate) and the ones made for sale in Europe had claw mounts (which are even worse).

A friend bought a stainless Colt Gold Cup that took a round 1mm shorter than the standard 45 ACP. Made for export to Italy where they can't own military calibers so Colt created a specialty round for it.

Not unusual for differing features based on where the product is going. Happens with cars all the time.

colonel plink, to answer your question yes i have. My rifle is a mixmaster WWII sniper with bent bolt type VZ24, although it shoots high i think only putting an original IOR type scope on it would do it justice

hence, i'm still searching
