I’m having difficulty finding any load data for some RL10x I have. I’ve been using it for my Everglades 55gr .223 FMJ loads and been more than pleased with it. Unfortunately there is no load data for 75gr HPBT over 10x on the Alliant site at all.

By chance would any of you infinitely more knowledgeable gents have a suggestion of a good starting load for a 75gr HPBT with RL10x. Or should I move on to a different powder altogether.
From what I’ve been reading the 10x has a burn rate too fast for 75gr projectiles, that concernes me.

The only info I can find about RL10x for .223 are lighter bullets like 55g or lighter. I'm not finding any data for heavier bullets like 75gr. and 80gr until I look at data for .243. I don't reload .223 but it looks like maybe a different powder is in order.

I agree 10x is a great powder but RL10x is too fast for a 75gr load in 223. Personally I recommend 8208xbr but Varget, 4895 (IMR or Hodgdon) or a handful of others should do the trick.

Thank you Gentlemen, I had a feeling I was barking up the wrong tree with the RL10x 75Gr business.
There’s a Varget recipe for an equivalent 75Gr HPBT to the Everglades projectiles I buy in all three of my reload books. I’ve been wanting to try some so I’ll give that a go.

Much appreciated..

Good Idea. I think that you will find that Varget is a good powder. It's one of my favorites in 30-06 with mid weight bullets.
