There are a lot of variables that affect firearm prices and I'll try to cover a few of them. Remember, this is just my opinion. Nothing is written in stone here. (Well, except maybe the stone in my head.)
I think a lot of economic arm twisting will be required to bring gun prices back down to what we consider reasonable again. Look, if you were getting a HUGE profit off of firearms sales would you want to lower your prices? HELL NO!
Look at gas prices as an example. The Arabs were quite happy with $4.00 a gallon gas. What happened when it went to $1.60 a gallon? They screamed bloody murder and started lowering output to get those prices inflated again.
It will take a serious economic downturn to lower gun prices again. Prices will remain high as long as there is at least a steady demand for the product. If your stuff was selling at inflated prices, what is your incentive to lower those inflated prices if the stuff keeps selling?
And, we must also take into consideration the overall cost to get a gun from the Earth (raw materials) to your local outlet. Prices all along that chain effect what we pay. If you look around, you'll see EVERYTHING seems to cost more nowadays. Gun prices are just following suit. Panic buying just accelerated that price increase to hyper-inflation levels.
Now, we have to look at the regime change that recently occurred here in the U.S.
You see what happened there.
Please make no mistake about it, our current regime wants you and me defenseless. They want power. ALL of the power. They want sheep with no ability to question their authority or act on wrongdoing. They want absolute control over every aspect of your life. This is why panic buying of firearms shot off like a rocket. "Get it before it's gone."
(The real question is, how many of those panic buyers will line-up to turn in their guns when they are deemed illegal?)
These are just factors I can think of off the top-o-me-head. I'm sure I missed other factors and may have over-simplified things that deserve more in-depth explanation. Please forgive me if such is the case. I'm just a village idiot incapable of deep thought.
