I'm curious what you guys have to say about what Gun Rights organization(s) I should donate to, to get the most out of my money to un-do what Obama has just done.

I'm already a member of the NRA and donated extra last month. I'd like to put my dollars into another gun rights organization (looking at Gun Owners of America currently) but if my money will do the most good with the NRA I'll do that.

Who can I write other than my Utah Senators, which I already have?

Just looking for suggestions on where my time and money would do the most good, to up hold our 2A rights.

The best place for your money is with the NRA Political Action Fund and the Second Amendment Foundation.

The best use of your time is supporting your state 2A organizations and the pro 2A politicians.

Pres Obama hasn't done anything yet but say he's going to ask Congress to fund these ideas he just rolled out. He isn't likely to get the money to do everything he wants and that's part of his strategy to help Hillary Clinton win the next Presidential election. and unseat Republicans from Congress.

Is the NRA Political Action fund separate from just donating on the NRA's site? What is the second amendment foundation? Thanks for the help.

I have Issues with the NRA but I do belong and they are the BIG DOG on the block. I suggest checking out some grassroots groups too. (Please if you are in Texas BY PASS the TSRA, they don't deserve any gun owners money).

NRA-ILA, Institute for Legislative Action. That's where my money goes.

The NRA, generally, is mostly used for education and advertising. You want something done in D.C. donate to the ILA.

That is very informative, that is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks. Just donated to NRA-ILA

What else? Is there another worthy organization I could to donate.

Why such contempt for the NRA? I've seen it in other places too so I feel like there may be something I'm missing.

NRA-ILA, GOA, Second Amendment Foundation, too. Though the NRA is the big dog, and I'm a life member, I really like Gun Owners of America for their no compromise defense of the Second Amendment.

Huh?

Without them we wouldn't have CHL or the recent Licensed Open Carry. I'd like to hear your reasoning.

They seem to like to take credit for the Texas Open Carry law and downplay the efforts of OCT. If you Google you might find they were not very OC friendly. I personally would have taken a membership with them. But have instead gone with Lonestar Gun Rights. I also belong to the NRA, I will continue with them even though I am not 100% of their commitment to OC or Constitutional Carry. I just think they hindered OC in Texas, but are now trying to say they were at the forefront.

If you go to The War On Guns blog and scroll down to: Hey, we're for gun control too! and read and also click on and read all the links in the article you'll see why some people have concerns in regards to the NRA and it's support of the 2A.
Besides the NRA-ILA there is GOA, SAF, CCRKBA(citizens commitee for the right to keep & bear arms) and JPFO that I can think of. If you've got the money it might help to give to most if not all of them and to your local organizations too.
