Thought I'd share this with others that don't have the proper tool to remove the AR handguards.
1. Do I have to say, make sure the gun's unloaded?
2. Run some nylon cord through the lower most (near receiver) hole of the bottom handguard and back out through the 3rd hole up. Tie snuggly.
3. Make a 4-5" loop in the other end of the cord about 18" from the guard.
4. Place the rifle in front of you while seated, barrel on the floor (protected) and the stock resting against your right shoulder.
5. Insert your left foot in the rope loop and pull up on the handguard ring (receiver end) with both hands while keeping tension on the cord with your foot.
6. Pops loose like an loose tooth!
