I'm still liking the stocks on this one:
Would be prettier in blue versus the matte black.

Been tempted by a set of "blank" scrimshaw stocks, but, then I'd have to decide what to carve in them :)

Hard to beat a 3.5 inch N frame in the eye candy department. This one is a 1960, model 27.

This pistol started out as a red-dot sighted 9mm STI SteelMaster. I used it for Steel Challenge and did well with it.
Then I started shooting a sport that required open sights. So, I bought a 5" slide, 6" barrel (because I think it looks cool) and sights. Fitting was a monster PITA, but I got it done and it's super-accurate. The 1 1/2 lb trigger doesn't hurt, either.
Then, I decided to spiff things up a tad and had the slide and barrel CeraKoted. Just for fun.
I like unique guns. Sue me.

Skeeter would love that Ruger finally made a 44 Special Blackhawk. The grips are birdseye maple. 20220825_131118.jpg

I have a trio of blue steel and walnut revolvers that look amazing to my eyes.

A Model 14-3 with a 5” barrel. (This started life with an 8 3/8” barrel until the original owner bulged the barrel 1.5” from the muzzle.)

    42306002-2255-4F4F-AB68-ED1A5E7BC4A1.jpeg

Or a 5.5” flattop Blackhawk.44 Special with Chigs walnut burl grip panels. These just holler Elmer Keith from yesteryear and John Taffin today.

Or a 4” J frame Model 34 .22/.32 Kit Gun. Something grandpa had stashed in his pocket when out in the field.

    Stay safe.

None of my carry sidearms would qualify for any beauty contest.
I agree that the 1860 Army is one of the sleekest good looking wheelguns around, hands down...
    1860.jpeg

But since I got this one, I have to say it just looks darn sweet - shoots that way, too!

I spent some time looking at the guns in my safe and always found the PP with the slim slide profile very appealing.

The finish on the Ratzeburg Korth Combat is incredible and it balances well.

The S&W 29-2 was the favorite of a friend from whom I inherited it, nice to look at and fun to shoot with many memories attached.

Before I get carried away and go on forever, here are two Pedersolis. They shoot very well and are looking good.

I just had to add the Hammerli 212 with the old style stippled Nill grips :).

    4.25" 1911's look about perfect.
I really like a 3" revolver as well.

Funny how there have been zero pictures posted of plastic guns.

The smooth, slim, glossy Old Style Grips on my Model 19 worked fine ... indoors with air conditioning but SD would more likely be out doors and we are pretty much year round hot and humid down here so I rummaged around in the Box of Shame and found a set of aftermarket "K Frame" Magna style checkered wood grips in really great condition. So shoe change and back to the range this morning the slightly wider and longer matte finish checkered wood Magna Grips will definitely do better when hands are all sweaty and still conceal discretely.

The smooth skinny glossy Old Style Grips:

My favorite revolver is this S&W Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman.

Dunno, mine was (sadly, past tense) was uite nice despite not being "modern"

Palm swell Hogue grips made it a sweetheart to shoot, too. 110gr 357 felt like 158gr 38spl
But, then again, Royal Blue is close to the definition of "eye candy" too . . .

Comparable to modern verses classic country music. One might like and listen to modern country but at the end of the day, classic, old school wins out.
