Face Transplant to fix a gun accident

Anyone know the story behind the accident? It's almost like it was a shotgun to the face. I ask because I keep a list of stories for "what not to do" purposes.

You can always theorize what happened.... but it's not the same impact as "this actually happened".

I'm a little skeptical about the 'accident' part, too. As has been said, it's hard to accidentally shoot yourself in the face.

I wonder how his accident happened too. Just looking at the various face transplants, they're getting better and better. I'm impressed that such things are possible!

On Sept. 10, 1997, Norris noticed a 12-gauge shotgun leaning on the glass door inside a gun cabinet at a home at 1018 Chestnut St., Eanes said today.

Norris “unlocked the cabinet to get the gun off the glass door, and when he pulled it out, the gun discharged,” Eanes said.

Norris suffered a gunshot wound to the face, he added.
