Fair trade-in price for a Browning Buckmark

My Browning 22lr gets very little use so I am planning on trading it in when I get my new Ruger CLP. The Browning is in excellent shape, with the original plastic Ruger case and an extra magazine. What might I expect as a fair trade in price? I bought this many years ago and can't for the life of me remember how much I paid for it.

Every place I've gone to inquire about trading a gun in has presented me with a well-meaning salesman telling me I'd get a lot more money by selling the gun outright and saying "he" (referring to the anonymous owner/manager) wouldn't give me anywhere near what the gun was worth.

This means your Buckmark might get $150-200 on a good day. Good luck.

"Fair" and "trade-in" are a contradiction in terms. You will get about half or even a third of what it is worth so the gun store can turn around and sell it for its actual worth (term used loosely), which is how it makes its profit. If you have the time, sell it outright, or consider consigning it.
