I'll play along.

I don't have a picture of it without the scope, but here it is. I'm thinking about getting another scope for it soon, though. Either that or another 7.62x54R ammo buy.

DSArms STG58 build. 18" barrel with short steyr flash hider. Extreme duty scope mount and 30 round magazine.

And this is one of my favorite pictures of the FAL in action.

What the heck are all those hanging off his belt? Wallets that he's hawking to the tourists?

Its a janjaweed militia thing.

If you are a tourist, and you see somebody in that outfit, you are probably about to have a really bad day.

(notice muzzle placement -- a-la-Barney-Fife style)

All the cool kids are doing it.

And a Rhodesian from Century returned to something like proper configuration (minus DSA scope mount) and very proper paint. (Like the last Century mentioned, this one is a reliable shooter.)

Imbel gear-logo type 3

Not as fancy as some, but still gets a few longing looks at the rifle-range. :)

Tanker, how do you like that brass catcher?

I've been thinking about one myself.

W.E.G.,

it works okay...I tried to see how much I could cram into it once...it took 3 1/2 mags to cause ejection issues. As I don't have a whole lot of boxer 308 that I shoot up, I hardly use it unless I am at a range where someone is getting upset at me tossing hot brass at them.

I [heart] my FALs.

This rifle started life as an Austrian STG58. I got the parts kit from DSA and assembled it on a Dan Coonan receiver. The barrel was trimmed to 18". It has DSA "X-stock" furniture, a DSA hooded rear sight (not shown in pic), FSE trigger, and an FSE folding charging handle. The scope mount is an Armalite AR15 mount and the scope is a 2x-9x Weaver Classic.

ImblFAL3.jpg

This rifle started life as a Brazilian Imbel. Unike the STG58, this one was used hard with hardly any finish and beat up furniture. It was also built on a Dan Coonan receiver, with the barrel cut to 17" and a 1" long brake permanently attached (to make it AWB legal). After the AWB ended, it got a DSA Hampton lower, with the folding stock. It also has a FSE folding charging handle. The Bushnell 1x-6x scope get's used on my AK now. I just prefer the open sights on this rifle.

More pics here.
