I should give a little info on my rifle.
It started life back in 2001 as a DSA STG-58A "Austrian FAL" rifle, with the 21" barrel and long heavy break. Thing was rock solid reliable and decently accurate, too. (It could do 2.5 MOA with Portugese surplus.)
Overtime, I replaced the stock furniture with synthetic, Penguin because I prefer the non-bipod-cut handguards and hump-back stock. I like the G3-style grip a lot better too.
Sent it off to Arizona Response Systems for carbine conversion. Replaced the Austrian barrel with a 16.25" new barrel from DSA (Badger Ordnance), replaced the steel lower with a DSA lightweight, and had the Gunplumber neatly mate a steel buttplate to the metric plastic stock for a noticably shortened length of pull. (A nice side effect of this is that with the hump-back stock, shortening it thus places your cheek weld higher up. You can still use the irons, but it's perfect with something like an Aimpoint or Tri-Power in an ARMS mount.) Also have a DSA "tactical" rear sight, which has a large and small aperature like the M16A2 and a windage knob.
Of course, I'm having problems with it now. Suspect the gas port needs opening, and I'm sending it back to a 'smith to get it sorted out. Not the fault of any of the parts or construction, mind you. Sometimes these things just need tweaking.
The only other changes I want to do is to replace the carry handle with a washer (part just arrived from DSA today), replace the too-small Belgian type magazine release lever with a larger round Israeli type (I think DSA should make this one standard. The traditional metric one is very small.), and replace the bolt release with a DSA extended one.
Then, (well, once I get it working again), it'll be pretty close to perfect. I'm interested in seeing how well it'll shoot with the new DSA/Badger barrel, and what kind of accuracy I can get with Black Hills and Hornady TAP ammo.
Maybe I'd like to get the L1A1 style sand cuts done, too. Hmm...
