Favorite .22 LR rifle?

My Henry Lever action is by far the .22 rifle I have the most fun shooting followed by my Father's Marlin Model 80. It is the rifle I learned to shoot on and it makes me think of my Pop when I shoot it.

Favorite would be a close call between a nice Win 52, Rem 40x, Anschutz 54 action, and maybe a Suhl. Favorite I own would be my CZ 452 Varmint. The Marlin 39 would be up there as well as a CZ 511.

Sadly, I only have the one, but I'm rather smitten with it. It's a Savage Mk II.

I also have a bunch of rifles from the CMP. They include the Kimber 82G, Winchester 52D, Remington 40X, Remington 513T, H&R M12, and the Mossberg 44US. They are all fun to shoot, but my favorites are the Winchester 52D and the Remington 40X rifles mainly because of the superior triggers. With the way ammo prices are I'm soooo glad I put the money into getting so many rimfires!!

I like the savage pictured above, quite an accurate rifle. Personally, I just own a 10/22, but I'm going out tomorrow to shoot my dad's old Winchester 290, so I'll see how I like that.

I just read somewhere that some of these prefer the hollow point .22 rounds to the ball rounds, and this was the case with my friend's Colt pistol that shot .22 LR ammo - jammed with Remington Thunderbolt, didn't jam with Golden Bullet. I'll have to see what the case with this is, and maybe tomorrow I can pick a favorite of the .22's based on how well it shoots, what kind of ammo (or how cheap the ammo is) that it can shoot, and maybe a little for the looks (I like the tube-feed and I also like bolt-action rifles).

Although I dearly love my old Marlin 39M, and it'd be the about very last thing I'd ever part with, when I just wanna go plinking for grins and relaxation one of my Rossi M62 pumps is most often what goes to the club with me.

Nostalgia probably has a good deal to do with that. The very first "real" gun I can remember firing was a Winchester pump (probably a 62) at the shooting gallery that used to be on the pier at Santa Cruz when I was a boy of about 5 or 6. I don't think anything has ever thrilled me more than that first "clang".

If I've posted in this thread before I can't find it, so I'll throw this out - In order:

1. CZ 452 Scout
2. Izhmash Biathlon Basic (neat rifle)
3. Marlin 39 TDS
4. CZ 452 Luxe

I've got other mundane ones, but those are my favs.

I had a pristine Taurus 63 semi-auto (Win 63 clone), and it was nicely made, but I'm a scope kinda guy, and couldn't scope it easily, so it sold. I was fairly unimpressed with the T/C Classic, accuracy-wise, even though it was a nicely finished rifle - it was sold. Also had a Henry H003 pump which was a hoot and very accurate, but the finish was crappy so it had to go. Also had a Rem 572 Fieldmaster pump, and it was pretty good, but the bbl was too long, so it had to go. When my ship comes in, an Anschutz 54 will be in the cards.

I just bought it at lunch today. All ways wanted a 10/22 with a Manlicher stock found one today with full stock lamainted cheap simmons scope stainless rifle sling $279.

My fav is the Marlin 60. I had a Marlin/Glenfield handed down from gramps and that thing was a champ. It shot way better than I could and was deadnutz reliable. I miss it ... and I want another one. :(

10-22 in camo,with a 30 round clip,best 90 cents worth of bullets spent.....and makes me smile.

For years I would have said my 10/22

heres a new one on this thread my favorite is my litle mossberg model 402 palimino its lever action and tube fed but it dosnt have a hammer i didnt mind iron sites but i put a scope on for long range targets

What'd you pay for that, over $600 at least? I paid $175 for mine and I got the dressed up version

I have a blowgun with genuine Inca engraving that will do that that cost me $5. You guys got ripped off.

Seriously though, what does it matter what another member pays for a gun if they are happy with it? They earned it, they can spend it as they see fit.

i got my new one in 2008 arond christmas time it's a savage MARK II-G with AccuTrigger it's only $226 and with a scope on it to me there is nothing better :)

Tough choice:

CZ 453 Varmint - Bolt action

Marlin Mod 60 - Semiautomatic

Marlin Mod 39 - Lever action

I like this little Rossi

With it I shot the squirrels from the barn 130 yards laser ranged.
I have been trying to get a 1897 Marlin relined to shoot as well but no luck yet, sent it off again.
