Favorite holster for Glock G19?

I'm willing to buy two holsters: One for concealed carry and another for back country camping / range trips.

Need more info. IWB or OWB for concealed carry? Leather or synthetic? Open carry for camping/range? If so, do you want a retention holster? What price range are you looking at for both?

I prefer OWB for concealed carry. 99% of the time, I carry my G19 in a DeSantis Speed Scabbard. I also have a Blackhawk CQC Serpa for those times I'm in a state that allows open carry.

As in the other thread, to me, the Raven Concealment Phantom seems like a natural for the G19. With one holster you can use it IWB or OWB and try different ride heights and cants.

A good quality IWB holster is great for concealed carry any time of the year. During colder months, when you can wear coats, sweaters, and other heavier items of clothing, you can use an OWB quite easliy.

Of course, if you are willing to dress around the gun and wear longer shirts, either one will work. This may not be completely practical in very hot places, but I haven't lived in one of those, so I'm not sure how to carry in AZ, for instance when it is 113 degrees.

IWB I like the Milt Sparks Horsehide VMII (for all except the 1911 family then I use their HR-LTD) And yes they are worth the price and the wait. One of the few holsters that if in good shape used, will bring more money than a new one.

OWB for all but competition I like the Safariland 6377/78.
For competition I usually use either a Comp-Pro or a Blade-Tech. Over on Todd Green Forum he has a competition going. If you use one of these they penalize you for unfair advantage. Yea, it really is that fast and it's a solid and safe security holster. It's what Blackhawk wishes it had invented, instead of the SERPA.

There are other fine leather, plastic, and now hybrid holsters, but over the years I find these do everything I have needed a holster to do, very well.

I'd just go with a Fobus paddle holster. They're cheap & fit the pistol like a glove.

i have a parker IWB and the aforementioned fobus that i use for my 32 and even on occasion a 34, The parker has given me nothing but good service and quite honestly is so comfortable i never use the fobus, even when dressing for cold weather out hunting I rely on the parker.
