I'm soon to be picking up a 2.5" S&W 66 and I'm starting to look for loads for it. I still haven't decided if I'm going to shoot 158's through it, or stick with 125's. I'm kind of partial to the 158 SWLHP, but I don't want to make a load that is going to stress the gun too much, I plan on shooting it in IDPA so I'll definitely be using it quite a bit. What are your recommendations?

If your shooting it in competions thats lots of rounds and I'd use .38+P+ loads in K frame. Something like 158lsw at 950fps out of 2.5" barrell. However the 125JHP recoil less but you have to go over 1200fps to get them to be effective antipersonnel loads and that is a pretty stout load for a continous diet in K frame2.5".:)

Thanks, I think I'll try some different loads with the 158's. low recoil doesn't sound like much fun.
