What are your favorite 9mm or .40 semiautomatic handguns? I like the cz-75 and the Jericho 941; followed by the beretta m9.

CZ-75 and Browning Hi-Power are mine. BTW, both are good guns to train women on. Recoil is mild and smaller grip feels comfortable to them. One advantage of the CZ is the Kadet conversion kit. Same frame, different and affordable caliber.

All of them, but the only one I own (because it perfectly filled a "void") is the Springfield XD9 SC.

I've got a CZ 75D PCR, and the Kadet kit is one of the best parts about it. The PCR has never malfunctioned on me, and the grip design of the CZ is about perfect for me. I also really love my FNP-9M. Another flawless performer, but with a smoother trigger than the awful gritty CZ feel.

my favorite handguns period are the sa xd's no matter what caliber.

however the glock 19 is one of the best 9mm made.

Sig P239 SAS Gen 2, absolutely love both the look and feel. I like the 226 as well in 9mm, in theory my favorite variant is the Blackwater Tactical, however I haven't actually gotten my hands on that particular variant to shoot it yet. Looks sweet though.

While there are a number of different make/model 9mm pistols out there which I've used and like well enough, the ones which I've wanted to own and carry for off-duty (and now retirement) usage make for a rather short list.

G26

Someday I'd like to add a LNIB 6906 to that list, simply because I carried at least a couple of them as issued weapons over the years and fired a few ten's of thousands of rounds through a couple of them.

If I were interested in 'collectible' or otherwise fancy semiauto handguns, or was interested in carrying full-size 9mm pistols, my list would be somewhat different, but I'm not ...

My SIG P229 for now. I just bought a Witness Match that hopefully will be equally well liked. Here is the SIG and the Witness:

Walther PPS 9mm

Why? the PPS is slim, cool, with the 8 cap mag fits the hand, has a high grip...so light I hardly notice it's on my hip.

for anything larger...I prefer the .40 S&W for its ballistics, though modern 9mm is almost as good.

For the .40 I have the HK P2000sk with X-Grip and Big Dot night sights, and just recently, the SIG P250c with tritium night sights.

The HK is probably the best made handgun, 100% reliable, German, expensive, worth it.

The SIG is too new for me to comment about, about as well made as the HK but it is mechanically revolutionary, a technical tour de force. It is closer to a hi cap 1911 profile, yet with modern materials and greatly reduced parts count. And of course, DAO is my way. Safety above all.

For backup, the 380 Ruger LCP w DPX.
