Sooo True Blue is good in 9mm? Do you have any chrono data? I have a pound waiting on me for work ups!

I really like True Blue in 9mm. I just recently worked some up with the RMR 124 RN FMJ @ 1.135 OAL, and found 5.6gr to be my favorite, it averaged 1064fps out of a 4.5" CZ. Very easy shooting. Ramshot also publishes +P data if you want to go a little faster, but honestly I would just use BE86 for that, it will go MUCH faster.

CrankyCraig,
please let us know how the new powder works out for you.
Hopefully well.:)
Well, I loaded up 100 rounds using 124 Grain RMR FMJ Roundnose Bullets and Speer once fired nickel cases & CCI small pistol primers.

50 I loaded with 4.6grains of BE86 & 50 with 4.6 grains of WSF both @ a COL of 1.135” both cycled well and shot really well freehand at targets @ 7 yards and 8” plates at 10-15 yards. Both were very pleasant and plenty accurate. I’m going to have to load up some more and see if I can choose between the two!

That's pretty much my exact load with wsf. I try for closer to 1.130 but they're often around 1.135. Also with the RMR fmj rn.

BE 86 works better with hotter loads. I get the best accuracy with 124 RN @ 5.1gr-5.2gr of BE-86 at 1.135. I have gone up as high as 5.6gr with Zero 125gr JHP but it is pretty snappy.

Cool,
glad you are liking them both so far.
Did the WSF feel less snappy than the ones you loaded with Titegroup?

Actually yes I brought some with me to compare and the recoil was More of a shove than a flip if that makes sense?
I even shot a few out of an XDS with a 3.3”bbl just for the heck of it. I really like the RMR 124grain FMJ RN too! May have to try some Flat Points In the future. I will say That both powders metered beautifully out of my LEE Autodrum.

I’m Very happy !! Now I just need to load a hundred or so of each and shoot them on different range trips.

My friend went with me he was testing HAP’s loaded with Power pistol and Some with CFE Pistol lol it was Obvious when he loaded up the power pistol man that stuff is LOUD & has a Huge flash I thought he was shooting 357sig at first.

Yes it does, fast powders can help recoil, and are better for lower velocity plinkers, but at a certain level they start getting snappy.

It seems most everyone that tries BE-86 and Tru Blue like their results in 9x19. Power Pistol and Unique are my long time favorites, but BE-86 is a strong rival that may take power pistol's place due to less flash. True Blue is a great fallback.

My all time favorite load in 9x19 with 124 Gr is the old Stephen Camp load: 5.9gr-6gr Unique and a Hornady XTP or Montana Gold 124 Gr JHP. Great velocity, and all my 9mm pistols shoot very accurately with it.

Yes, it makes perfect sense.
That is one of the reasons I like WSF for mid range loads, it shoots well and I just prefer the way it feels compared to something like Titegroup/Bullseye.

If Power Pistol is not loud enough for your friend he should try Longshot AKA Loudshot, louder and flashier than PP:)

Lol like a FlashBang??

Below is a target with factory Hornady XTP 124 loads that I am trying to mimic with my hand loads using Unique.

Below is the closest that I have come up with in velocity, but SD is a little higher. Even though these grouped better, it was only a 5 shot group. 1516571133423823908118.jpg

I carry 124 XTP's as my PD round in my CZ P09. They will get the job done, and they are cheap enough to reload if you can dial them in close enough to factory so practice is more accurate, without having to pay a lot more for factory to practice with. Loving me the Unique, but may tinker witj this load a little more.

KYregular I wouldn't be overly concerned with the ES/SD, holes on target are what matter.
Having said that unless you weighed every Unigue charge odds are they varied a little bit, most measures throw Unique say + or -.2.
So with a -.2 and a +.2 you could have a .4gr swing.

Actually did weigh every test charge. Your right, holes are what matter. Dont want them to be way more accurate than factory for these, since are to mimic factory rounds.

I like medium speed ball powders, specifically Silhouette and Accurate #5. I like the easy metering as I’m loading on a 650xl. I also like that there is +p load data available. I load 124 gr FMJ hot enough to mimic M882 9mm NATO, which runs well in my guns, and a friends MP5 SMG.

For that exact bullet, I currently use 4.6 gn W231, CCI #500 primer, with 1.110” OAL. Of course, carefully work up your own load, but that’s mine.

I am using W231 because I have a lot of it. But seeing all the posts for those who like BE-86, I feel like I need to give that a try, too.
