So i want to buy some ammo from them but im very wary about who i send my ID to these days...can anyone assure me its safe? anyone else bought from them and faxed them ID?

I e-mailed a scan to them - no issues. All the major ammo vendors want a FOID card (Illinois) or driver's license before they ship ammo, powder or primers.

I sent them a scan of my driver's license. Now they own my house and car!!! I'm kidding, its perfectly fine.

I used my AF Retired ID card, with the SSN redacted. They need your name and DOB, you can blot out the rest.

Aim even requires it FTF in the store. They make a copy of your ID, then keep it on file, so you only have to do it once.

I sent my ID to AIM a while back. Now they have all my money. But they did give me a bunch of Polish 7.62x54r to lessen the sting.....

It's all good until the information you sent them becomes compromised. How do they check that the copy of the ID they receive is the person sending it?

Many of the security features of a DL only work in person. I could do an excellent job of changing the address on my DL in < 30 minutes.

Seems to me this is to cover Aimsurplus's legal liability? Perhaps another policy that feels good that isn't necessarily effective?

i emailed them a scanned copy and put in the subject line my order number. got an email back from them within 5 minutes saying everything is good to go. smooth.

AIM Surplus is good people. They won't screw you over. If you go there in person to buy a gun or ammo, they take your ID and make a photocopy and keep it on record.

i took a picture of my ID, uploaded it on the computer, then uploaded it to there web site and have been purchasing ammo ever since!

I sent them mine via email, no issues. Bought several guns off of them as well, again no issues. Good folks to deal with.

No problem sending my ID to Aim. Probably shouldn't have, all my money seems to have followed the trail the ID left. rr2241tx

Many orders, no problem. Got one today I wasn't expecting until the second week of December.
