I am trying not to give up on the P3At that I have and am considering a mag. extension and the trigger shoe that can be bought and attached to the trigger.

Does anyone have any experience with the trigger shoe. I am looking for any feedback good or bad. Thanks.

I'm of the general opinion that trigger shoes are not a safe solution for defensive guns, ymmv.

My decades of experience indicate that, if you choose to use a trigger shoe, it will have to be a permanent part of your Kel Tec.

The only way to affix a trigger shoe on a Kel Tec in a manner where it won't migrate, come loose or fall off is with JB Weld as an adjunct to the Allen screws.

Chandler Bates, OTOH, has detailed instructions at http://www.ktog.org/tecwerks8.htm

+1 to not on a pocket pistol, especially one with no external safety. Anything that even slightly increases the possibility of snagging the trigger is to be avoided!

Well, the trigger shoe on my Dectective Special is good and tight. God know how long it has been on there. And no, it doesn't cause snagging.

Most people have never used one so they only know what someone they knew whose Uncle talked to a guy about it.

If my experience with a P11 trigger shoe is any sign, it probably won't work as supposedly designed. The allen screws don't get enough purchase to be solidly on the trigger (so I ended up with a nicely scarred trigger).

As mentioned before, I ended up going the JB Weld route with a slightly modified frame...not a perfect choice, but since no one was making one-piece wider triggers...

HOWEVER, this is a P11 which is reputed to have a pretty horrible trigger pull, and I was borderline on whether I even wanted to try a shoe on it. The P3AT is supposed to be much better, and I'd be tempted to find other alternatives to whatever problems you're having with it...
