Female Australian Pro-Surfer Turns In Her Surfboard For A Rifle While In US

A surfer visiting the U.S. decided to shoot a rifle instead of riding the surf at the beaches. I'm sure the rifle (a LaRue Tactical Rifle equipped with a suppressor) is banned in Australia. I wonder what her fellow Aussies thought of her shooting that beautiful rifle.

"Professional Australian surfer and model Ellie-Jean Coffey elected to spend time firing a semi-automatic rifle while in Texas, as opposed to spending time in the United States on the beaches."

(This is the first time in awhile since I posted here.)

I had the opportunity to meet a couple Ausie's at my club. They were thrilled to shoot my m1a and m1. They each took videos of eachother shooting. Damn shame what happened to that country.

It is not impossible to own a firearm in Australia.
Let's see if she returns home with a new sport or just deliciously naughty stories of her adventure in backward Texas.

Color me skeptical, but I think for this model, it may be more a publicity thing than a love of firearms. The article includes several shots of her proving she's not shy about being in the public's eye.

Met an Aussie traveling the US some time ago. Very anti gun. We had a long conversation.

Gave him a session on gun safety. Then, took him to the range to shoot a SIG 226 and 228. In just a few min, he was grinning ear to ear, high fives and had me take a pic of him posing with the two pistols in hand.

He went back very pro.

:)

She no more "turned in" her surfboard than I did. She got invited to go shooting one day, that is it, end of story. Big whoop. If she was in Texas, she wasn't here for the surfing and she didn't travel to Texas because we are the only coastal state with a gun range.

"...instead of riding the surf..." A "pro surfer"(as daft an idea as that is. Worse than "professional athlete". ) would be working if she was surfing. Looks like the typical Hollywood type on that bench too.
"...not impossible to own a firearm in Australia..." Semi's are pretty much far too evil. Anything like an AR of any flavour is prohibited. That includes semi-auto and pump shotguns.
