FFL dealers, who should I order ammo wholesale through?

Ask a Distant Dealer and the BATFE

If you are just getting in the business, try visiting a remote dealer. Somebody who you are not directly competing with, but is located in the same state. They should be happy to spend a few minutes (especially on, say, a slow Wednesday morning) talking about different wholesale suppliers and any tricky State legal issues. I know we had that talk with new businesses a few times. (Many years and 2 careers ago...)

Also, it is worth asking your local BATFE contact. Unless you are very unlucky, most of the time those guys are actually reasonable and might be able to point you in the right direction. Contrary to popular belief, it won't hurt to ask. (Offer void in PRK, MA, HI, NY, NJ, etc.)

P.S. There is still time to book a trip to the February 2006 SHOT show. That will hook you up with more suppliers than you know what to do with. http://shotshow.org

Yes the SHOT Show is on my agenda. Contrary to popular belief, I have found the PRK DOJ division to be extremely friendly and helpful. I have found all of these regulatory bodies to be rather friendly and nice. I guess they might say, "Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer." :what:

Surely someone around here orders ammo through their business and shouldn't feel threatened by me out here in the sticks of the PRK? :uhoh:

OK, Here's my old list...

See what I mean. Secret squirrel. No one wants to talk.

These may be somewhat out of date, but here goes:

RSR

Ellett Brothers

Davidson's

Lipsey's S&S

AIM

Graf and Sons

MidwayUSA

Georgia Arms

J&G Sales

Acusport

Century Arms

Lew Horton

Sports South

That's a pretty comprehensive list of the big guys we used.

P.S. You'll still have to go to the SHOT show to learn the secret handshake though!
