Fiber Optic sight fans

Planning on getting fiber optics for my TRP soon - Decided to get a green front sight and red in the rear.

Anyway, anyone who has a complete set of fiber optic sights - do you regret getting the rear sight in fiber optic? Do you wish you had left the back sight black and just gotten a fiber optic front sight? Or do you like 3 glowing dots?

I'm not sure how helpful I'll be . . . I had the front and rear on a Kimber, installed by the previous owner. They were very bright, and I found my groups getting bigger. I'm guessing it is because I was looking at the rear sight, but there's no way to be sure. I switched back to the factory rear sight and things got better. I do really like the fiber optic front sight though. I don't even have to think about "front sight" . . . how could you miss the thing!

I also had a marlin guide gun with fiber optic front and rear, and I really liked that setup and shot well with it. For me, pistols I do front only, rifles I do front and rear. YMMV.

How well do they work in "low-light"?

I don't find mine to work any better in low light than regular black metal sights. I guess it depends on how you define low light. With a little daylight, they are fine.

I like FO up front only and it works very well when it's daylight out but not well at all in any darker conditions.

I've used the red Hi-Viz front sights extensively on S&W revolvers. An excellent sight for outdoor use. However, in dim light and especially on indoor ranges, I find no real advantage. Outdoors in bright sunlight, awesome. Even on a hazy or overcast day, the red front sight is quite visible, really stands out. Haven't used the fiber-optic rear sights, but all black or black with white outline or white bar rear sights with the Hi-Viz frontsight works very well.

Truglo Tritium/Fiber optic

I don't know if you've seen them yet, but I recently put a set of TruGlo Tritium-FiberOptic sights on my Glock. I love them! They provide excellent daytime sighting and the tritium lights up the FO at night so much that it looks like a Electrodot sight system...It is awesome!

As mentioned above, I am putting them on my TRP

A Springfield 1911 TRP - The gun currently has Novak night sights - the front sight tritium dot is almost impossible to see unless the lights are out - I hate the sight. I've been using the top of the sights for alignment at the range - as if they were all black.

I'm stuck w/ the Novak cut, so my options are limited. I wish I could get meprolights, but they do not make them for Springfield's w/ the Novak cut - I've already contacted the company directly.

Novak just came out with these fiber optics. The gun is for range use - my local indoor range still has a light over where you stand, and on the target. So, I should get enough light for them to be of use.

It's not a carry gun, so I'm not real worried about the low light thing.

I will get the green front dot, and figured that all three dots in green would not be as good as having a mixture of colors. Just wondering if ONLY a front dot would be the best thing.

I looked at a 1911 w/ that set up once, but I never tried to shoot one before.

HiViz fiber optic on the front sight, not on rear. Does great for someone with poor eyesight like mine in daylight. Doesn't make any difference in low light.

Some react to the remaining UV and do well, similar to fishing line. YMMV.

Anyone seen one of these that uses adjustable intensity LEDs? It would be interesting for high and low light though battery life would probably suck.
