Its been an oversight for some time now. Been too busy acquiring rifles, maybe. But I had already got my Sig, and a CZ .40 cal for the wife. Been wanting a 1911 since....well, a long friggin time, anyway.

    Today I got my wish.

Went to go put a rifle on consignment. Started looking at a used Springfield 1911A1 they had. It hasnt seen very bloody much use. Tried to do financing. Nope. Guess I should eventually pay off that damn credit card bill. Oh well. Maybe layaway? Nah, that give me only 30 days to pay it off. If the rifle didnt sell, I would have a choice between get the FAL kit I want, OR get the pistol. Gunshop guy mentions another option. Trade the rifle for the pistol and some cash. Woo hoo!

So now I've got my 1911, and most of the money I'll need for the FAL kit.

    Life is good.

Hopefully I'll be able to get to the range sometime soon.

Congratulations! I apologize if this sounds snobby but imho a firearm collection just isn't complete without a 1911. Enjoy! :)

Not snobby at all. I'm just glad that I finally managed to correct an oversight that had plagued me for so long.

The problem is that they have a subtle way of takin' over...like that
bird that gets rid of the eggs in a nest and lays her own.:D

I could almost swear that 1911s are male and female genders...
and if ya don't put'em in separate places, they multiply!:uhoh:
    Well...it seems that way anyhow...

    Hells Bells don't I wish!

If they'd multiply by themselves I wouldn't have to keep paying for more. :neener:

Maybe I should play "Bolero" in my Safe? :what:

They seem to do better with "Take the Ribbon From Your Hair"
    and "Prelude in D minor":D

Some gun collections simply aren't complete without one example of either a 1911, a Colt SAA, or a Ruger .22 auto. Of the three, I just have 1911's. Lots of 'em. :uhoh:

    More 1911s

I'm still convinced that they reproduce. I've got a few here that I have
no memory of when or where I got'em. 'Course...the ol' memory banks
ain't exactly what they used ta be.:banghead:

    They're MINE!

You were supposed to do that voodoo that you do so well and return them to me. I'll be anxiously awaiting for the FedEx/UPS guy.

Hmmm...I can't say that I'd make the same choice. YMMV.

I must agree that they are a necessity to every collection. You'll love it.

Multiple 1911A1 Colts. Don't know why my collection/arsenal (pick one) runs heavy to these pistols. There's always room for one more in my home for wayward Colt's famous autoloaders. Then again, I could always form my own banana republic. How do you think I'd look in a generalissimo's uniform? :uhoh: :neener:

Congrats on the SA 1911! You'll love that 1911!

Just as a Reminder though, a Colt 1911 finishes off every gun collection nicely

Hows that for snobby... j/k :p
