I always knew this rifle was a shooter but had some concerns about accuracy in a full length stock, so I glass bedded it just for insurance. After bore sighting I set up my "custom" rifle rest and sighted in at 90 yards (the length of my back yard). Ammo was factory Hornady Custom 140 grain in 6.5x55. First pic is 3 shot string measuring .357 inches, second pic is total of 6 shots.
I think with some final fiddling with windage we are set for deer season.

Fine gun and a fine cartridge. Mine isn't that good but it is pretty darned accurate. Of course if mine WAS that good I still couldn't get those groups because the gun is much better than I am.

Generally; those Swedes and that 6.5x55 round are very sweet shooters. That's why I have three of 'em. Two are all original Mod. 96's and one is one of those that were sporterized by Kimber back in the mid-1990's. The 6.5x55 is also one of my favorites when it comes to reloading. Looks like you're gonna be all set come deer season.

beautiful rifle and nice shooting!

feel free to add more pics of the rifle! :)

beautiful rifle! i remeber this one, just couldn't tell from the first pic if it was the one with the antler-schnaebel forend cap.
