I never really intended to get one as I have lots of stuff that’s more suitable for things I do but built one anyway, after I was done with R&D on a machine I built to convert brass for the caliber.

So I haven’t done much with it over the last 4 or 5 years but was out at the farm this weekend and didn’t have a chance to confirm zero on the rifle I was intending to use for hog killing and came across a rather large group of hogs while trying to setup for the nights hunt, normally don’t see them out midday. Anyhow, I went back and picked up a buddy and the 300, we spilt up and he got a nice sow and I got dinner. Ok, maybe just an appetizer.

Amazing how good they taste when all they’ve had to eat is milk. :)

What round are you using? I dropped a doe early in the season with the new Hornady sub-x from my Ruger 300 ranch.

It was a 125 grain BT with H110, supersonic but a .22lr would have done it, if hit in the right spot.

It was a “lucky shot” by my standards but more than enough “gun” for the job.
