    Congrat's there Dannyboy My Friend-

On your purchase of a very fine SIG P228. To
me, its the most wonderful balanced self loader
currently available on the U.S. market. With a
little TLC, the P228 should give you many years
of trouble free service! Many thanks for buying
    a SIG~Enjoy

    Best Wishes,

Hmmm. I can't find the 228 on the Sig website. How is it different from the 226?

Why is the P228 LE and Military only?

Actually it is not Military/LEO only. It is just that the P228 and P225 have such a huge international following among various military and LEO establisments that they sometimes stop production to civillians in order to meet demand for the big customers.

Both the P228 and P225 are still available to civillians and SIG does still do runs for us.

By the way, ditto Ala Dan on your new 228. Big thumbs up.

Sig 228 is a honey of a shooter. Great accuracy out of the box and the trigger is nice. Enjoy!:D

    My very 1st ever handgun - 228 (I now own over 20!) - I still love it!
It is easily the most comfortable grip of any gun I own - AND a real pussycat to shoot! I tend to carry more powerful calibers now (I've become a big 10mm fan), but the 228 will NEVER leave my arsenal - CONGRATS!
