That is in very good condition! My grandfather had one of those. I think it started my love of top break double action revolvers.

 

Purchased 2 this year, the first firearm I've bought in 10 years.

Very happy with my purchases

2 Taylor's "Smoke Wahons", 4¾" in .45 Colt and 5½" in .357.



I've tried a lot of"plastic fantastics" over the years and sold them all.

Still have a couple of AR's but I'm reverting back to metal and wood, with no regrets.

 

Like a fine little Swiss watch…

 

Best of all was last Feb. Found a minty 3200 Trap Special with all the upgrades and almost no wear. Price was very low, but the guy who bought it 30 years ago was happy to double his money.

This thread had me check my database and quite honestly I was shocked at what I saw. I’ll let it go at that, and later post a photo of the one I feel is the finest, once it’s assembled.

 

Funny story.

Years ago I was working on our little town street department and had become friends with our police chief who was a little bit of a gun guy.

One day he brought one of those little revolvers down to the shop to show me and when he handed it to me I promptly dropped it (only gun I've ever actually dropped BTW) and it hit my buddy's boot on the way down causing it to skid about 10ft across the concrete floor!

The look on his face was priceless and I felt like a complete butthead for doing it!

Neat little piece though.

That, and losing them, isn’t difficult to do with these tiny things.
Several years ago I gave my smaller .22 lr Mini to my son for Christmas as sort of a gag gift. He was a little bemused (but delighted) since the previous Christmas I had given him my S&W AR15.
Anyway later that day after everyone had gone home and we cleaned up the mess, son called and sheepishly asked if he had left it somewhere here. When he arrived home he could not find it in all the stuff they had taken with them.
So wife & I searched high & low including all the discarded gift wrap & boxes with negative results. I was somewhat annoyed & disappointed, and son was highly embarrassed that he could lose a firearm of any kind.

Moving on to the next holiday season, we got an excited call from his wife Christmas Eve saying that she had found the Mini in the wrapping paper box that they brought over the year before!
Big little mystery solved, much to the relief of everyone.
Later that spring for his birthday I gifted him the North American buckle “holster” made for that model. He was really tickled to receive it.

 

S&W1086 count?

 

I can't take credit for this one because it was my buddy's score, but he was at the right place at the right time and scored this mint 1903 from 1922. It looks to be about just as mint as mint can get and I defy somebody to show me a more pristine 1903. (Somebody is going to say it was reblued) . I really don't think it is reblued. I have a type III as well and while mine is in good shape, it's nothing compared to this:

I'm pretty sure my only acquisition in 2022 was an older Remington 870 Express that I've posted before. Definitely doesn't go with the whole "Finest acquisitions" theme so I won't post a pic....

This Sako L461 .222 Rem. was the highlight of my 2022.

 

Sold a few, bought a few. These are the ones that I'm most fond of.
Another Anschutz 54 sporter that was partially funded by NIGHTLORD40Ks Martini purchase.
A nice little Anschutz 1415/1416.
A beautiful 4" Python.
A very nice Chief's Special.
And a gorgeous 1952 39A topped with a Weaver 330.

 

@PzGren , I didn't make it past the first pic before starting to drool! . I've wanted a Sig P210 since the first time I shot one a couple years ago! Very nice!

My Favorite/finest 2022 firearm acquisition is kinda boring compared to all of you guys'. Getting the SBR tax stamp and finishing my 12.5" AR has been it. It's VERY fun to shoot! I'm sure it'll be better when I get a Suppressor for it!

 

New Springfield Saint Victor in 9mm. Added a Sig Romeo5 and a Streamlight TLR RM2.

 

My Mini 14 was my last purchase. I also got a RAR in 7.62x39 and a RAR 17hmr. And my Charter arms pitbull 9mm.

 

Love that Anschutz. What scope is that?

 

Well, that NA Mini above was my 1st purchase of 2022, and this scarce in the wild new Blachawk .357 was my last purchase of the year just before Christmas…

I bought a couple of pistols that i've been on the hunt for...a 10" stainless MK II, and a S$W 1006.

Plus this impulse buy... a 3" Iver Johnson .410 that's a real pleasure to shoot.

 

I bought several guns in 2022, none as spectacular as the OP’s museum pieces though. Or the Python, or Nambu, or the Martini, or the Colt, or the Sako, or the…Those are amazing one and all

Of the guns I bought in 2022, the CZ Shadow 2 is my favorite auto pistol.



The .44 Special S&W 624 6.5” is my favorite revolver.



But my favorite gun is one that I didn’t buy, but my Dad gave to me. His 1966-vintage Marlin 39A Golden Mountie. I first shot this gun with him in the desert outside Las Vegas around 1975. (That area is called Summerlin now.)

That is a good question. The scope is only marked 4x, Germany, and with a serial number. I have the exact same scope but with a tower for windage that is marked Hubertus. Hubertus was considered the patron saint of hunters and the German gunstore chain Frankonia had used "Hubertus" as their house brand. I have another Hubertus scope that is identical to one of my old Schmidt & Bender scopes.

I collect vintage German scopes from the 1950s to 1990s and could also add a few scopes to my collection.
