What's the best way to do this? Go with a cheap bullet seated into the lands over a mid charge of powder vs. Bullseye and wax plug vs. something else.
Thoughts on this?

First 6 PPC rifle and need to get brass fire formed so I can see how well I can shoot her.

Thank you.

@GoldieMI If it were me I’d buy brass and a neck turn tool and not fool around with that gorgeous rifle of yours if I didn’t have a choice I’d do the midrange load I reckon

@horsemen61 - I had Bob cut the chamber for 272 necks so I didn't have to turn the necks - it was originally a 262 neck but the gunsmith said he could make it into 272 neck for cheaper than buying a neck turning kit.

I always used a full charge with the bullet .020/.030 into the lands. Don't jam it in real hard or real deep. Since cases lasted so long, I used my regular bullets. You also want good neck tension, so don't open the necks up too much.

I actually haven't seen a new thread topic in so long, I just wanted to pop in and see what folks had to say.

I'd say you might be better off starting with Virgin brass for that beauty, but thats MO. We are in reloading!

Thats the ticket

Would hate to have something go awry in a new rifle of that quality. There are no poor quality long 6 rifles, nice choice.

That Lapua properly cared for will likely feed your rifle for its whole life. Well... a normal rifle life. If you are in competition, that bet won't hold.

I still have the original Lapua set i got with my .25-06, and the lead 10 are well into 30 firings now.

Chamber form em good, and they will form good for you on target:)

that's the plan. Making sure I do it right the first time- so far it sounds like loading them with Barts into the lands and fire forming that way.
N133 powder, Bart's Ultra 68gr, and Lapua Brass. - all en route now
just have to decide which primer to go with- thinking Federal GM205M which I have already

I currently use five rifles in Benchrest competition, all are 6PPC and each chambered with same reamer. Even though each rifle could the ammo of any of the others, I prefer to separate the brass with batches for each rifle. I fire-form in batches of 1000, using a special fire-forming barrel with oversize neck, using a slave action. Loads are full pressure charges with 80 gr or heavier bullets so the cases are full formed with sharp shoulder. After which the formed brass is divided for the individual rifles, and the necks turned along with other final preps. During an active shooting season I typically fire-form two thousands rounds, which would otherwise amount to a lot of barrel wear for my active rifles, so my special fire forming barrel is a sound investment... Offhand shoots this competitive, or should by his notes.

Listen to him.

He shoots your bore good. My pills are smaller.

Seriously, not my wheelhouse, here for popcorn

Thanks @Offfhand - currently no plan on shooting any formal matches or competing. My club doesn't even have a benchrest subclub setup. Rather it's truly just for me to see how well I can shoot when the equipment is not the issue. Plus I love the look of the rifles themselves, so based on looks alone I jumped into buying one from Bob White. I have 100 pieces of fresh 220 Russian Lapua Brass coming that will be dedicated to the new rifle. I want to see how things go first on this one, before I commit to another barrel though it will be a great solid investment if I find I really like shooting the rifle. Still haven't ever shot a 6 PPC or been able to load one round for it....just impatiently waiting on UPS to deliver at this point. And researching what glass I need to put on it...i have a S&B for now but that is borrowed from one of my other bolt action rifles.
