Another poll, let's bury it folks.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Fox News: Is it time to make constitutional changes to gun rights?

President Obama recently signed 23 executive orders the White House claims will reduce gun violence. Gun rights advocates claim the White House is trying to illegally skirt the constitution by issuing orders instead of turning to Congress.

Is it time to make constitutional changes to gun rights?
-Not sure. Our Constitution is not something to fiddle with lightly.
-Yes. The senseless killing of innocent Americans must end.
-No. It's not guns that are the problem.

It turns out that, despite all the fanfare and his own words when he said, "Let's get these orders signed," Obama didn't sign 23 executive orders. What he did sign was a wish list of 23 things he would like to see happen called "executive actions" - most of which have no legal weight whatsoever. On that list of executive actions he notes that he will issue 3 "presidential memoranda." Presidential memoranda are similar to EO's, but don't carry quite the same legal weight.

In other words, the "signing ceremony" was a lie - a psy op, if you will (Obama Did Not Sign 23 Executive Orders -- Daily Intelligencer).

Here are the 23 executive actions he wants to pursue:

So when it comes right down to it, as long as congress continues to deny funding for the biased "research" and other actions for which he calls on his list, there is nothing Obama can do to make any of them happen.

On a related note, a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows that support for the NRA is increasing despite efforts by the White House to vilify them. The poll shows that 41% of people polled support the NRA, while 34% do not. However, the 34% of people who do not support them is an increase of 5 percentage points over the poll conducted in January of 2011. WSJ/NBC Poll Shows Support for NRA - Washington Wire - WSJ

PS -- I voted. Check the results; consider it buried!!
