Has anyone used one of these on a revolver and how was it? I ordered one today and am going to mount it on a 686 using a Weigand rail. Its a cheap one but I really don't want to spend 4 or 5 hundred on something that I may not like.

I have one mounted on my Buckmark Camper rimfire pistol.

One really bad downside to it is there are no locking screws to hold zero adjustments. I had to use blue Loctite on the windage and elevation screws.

The first one I had lasted through one range session just fine, but sitting in the gun safe somehow the on button quit working and it wouldn't turn on anymore, even with new batteries.

So, I sent it back to the importer for a warranty replacement. The replacement on the Buckmark has now lasted through two range sessions and so far so good.

I think the thing is only airsoft quality at best. I'm going to use the replacement until it fails then I'll just go back to the extra Bushnell TRS-25 I have sitting around that I like to move from one gun to another, but has never failed yet.

Link to photo of that sight on my Buckmark.

That old saying you get what you pay for is true. However it will give me an indication on whether or not it will work for what I want to do with it on a revolver. Will being shooting 38 or light 357 loads so we will see. If not then I will try it on one of my 22's or send it back.
Did you have to Loctite the screws on the second one as well?

I can't remember the names but local gunshop have some the same size but they are $400 to $600 which is a bit rich for me right now. Oh well Amazon has it on back order so will just have to wait.
Did the windage and elevation go out that bad without using Loctite? I'm not to keen on using any at all on those little screws but maybe a touch of green.

The adjustment screws on both of mine were super easy to turn with the included Allen wrench. So easy that recoil or slide battering will make the screws wander with little effort.

I used blue Loctite because that is what I always have. I'm sure the "small" screw Loctite (purple?) would be better. Or maybe just some nail polish.

It still shows on backorder so not sure when I will get it but for sure will update if and how it works.

image.jpg Well I got it yesterday, mounted it and gave it a go today. Only had to make minor adjustments to sight it in. Was able to put about a 100 holes in a 5" square at 25 yards which I'm pretty happy with. Was shooting Speer 158 SWC over 3.1 grains of Bullseye. Didn't have any issues with it going out of adjustment and put a couple hundred of these loads through a 4.25" 686.
Going to load up some hotter .357 and shoot and will see if it keeps its adjustment.
The only thing is the dot is not that crisp. On the lowest setting its not too bad but as you go brighter it almost starts to bleed out and is more of a ragged dot if that makes sense.
Anyways for $69.00 Canadian which is about $48.00 US I'm ok with it.

Several of my red dots are like that. Some of it is due to my glasses, some of it due to the precision of the red dot. Luckily, it's still better for my eyes than a blurry front sight on a handgun. :)

Anyway, I'm glad it survived the first outing on your .357 magnum. I hope it keeps on going and going. :)

Just got some done loading some 158 XTP over 16.5 grains of 296. If it will handle those then it should be ok. Don't shoot many of those anymore but has always been a very accurate load for that 686.

It will be a few days before I can go and try them on some dangerous paper game. Thanks to our insane gun laws hunting with handguns is prohibited.
