Im have been always been a .45 die hard fan and still am.Own a few 10mm,just never a ..40 cal.Picked up the XD and it feels great in my hand and shoots to POA like nothing else i own.
NOW having said all that i have made an ammo choice Federal has a 135grn HP with the HST bullet in it that cooks coming out of the XD very low recoil impulse and these have sharp edged huge HP openings.I found these great rounds of all places Wally world 23.97 bx of 50.I carry the 135 grain screamer that Mike from DoubleTap makes for the 10mm and the .40 S&W is just the 10mm's little brother.
Any thoughts on carry ammo for the .40 cal or your own choices and why,i always felt the .40 cal was a waste as the 10mm is the same cartridge just
with more power. The gun is what sold me now i want to sort out the ammo.
This gun will be a carry gun.

Thanks for any and all input

I have been carrying 155 grain Winchester Rangers but I want to move up to either 165 or 180 grain. The 155's don't penetrate as well.
Congratulations on the XD-40 I have had one since 2007. It has close to 3000 rounds through it with no malfunctions. It is also very accurate.
