Tired of carting that big old Ruger 454 around for bears that never seem to show up...???

    Try this one:

    Actually it shoots pretty accurately...

I've heard the .480 has less recoil than the .454 Casull.

    Baron,
that's true. The .480 was designed to put out more power than a .44 Mag while giving less recoil than a .454.

Personally, I think that SSK's 'Beauty' conversion looks mighty spiffy. In contrast, the 'Beast' conversion is uglier than the pistol shown above.

I like the adjustable sights, that would help during those long benchrest sessions;)

Actually, i like it. It has a highly functional look about it. For instance that hammer spur would come in handy for hanging the gun on your forhead after the first shot.

    Okay, i'll stop now.

    (but i do like it)

Wildalaska, did you do all the work yourself? Did you machine the cylinder to accept moonclips for the 45ACP? What is the barrel length?

The barrel legnth is 4 inches, and it is machined for moon clips. The Moon Clips have to be modified to shoot 45 ACP, that is now a fait accompli as the manufacturer is changing the design of the clips to permit this in any 454 moon clip conversion.

We are now building the 4th one, evidently they will be popular even at $1299 each
