Today was my first time at the range with my beretta model 96 brigadier....and this was my first time out with a pistol EVER. I am very very pleased with the results I had!!! My first rounds at the targets were not so good.....bullets were EVERYWHERE at 15 yards......I then started to work on my mechanics. Gun performed well, no misfires/jams. Here are a few targets starting with the worst I had.

this is the second round.....I used the bench more and started to concentrate on the sights. This was at 15 yards as well.

round #3 here.....I really started to get comfortable with the big open sights that the gun has.....felt much much more comfortable the more shots I put through the gun.

Last set I shot with the .40.......I moved target back to 25 yards and rang off 10 shots from that distance.

End result I would have to say I am probably as happy as I can be with the way the shooting turned out. With no shooting experience with a pistol at all I think i faired very very well for a beginner. I am no marksman but at least I know I can hit a general area if I ever needed to. As of right now im very very excited.....can't wait to go again!

In My Humble Opinion, you made a lot of progress for your first outing;
you also picked one of the best pistols ever made. I've only been shooting for a couple of years so I remember well my first outing: a buddy let me fire his Colt 1911 .45, Browning Hi-Power 9mm, and Beretta .40 S&W:
Welcome to the group!

In my experience, the Beretta 96 is the nicest 40 S&W pistol...congrats! Plus, it looks like the more you shoot w/ her, the better the results. Keep it up ;)

I will say for being my first time out with the pistol I am very satisfied......tickled to death if I might say! I am really looking forward to going again now, hopefully a little warmer than last weekend but I will take any chance I get now!! Hopefully I will have the SAR-1 soon so i can bring 2 fun guns.. I really don't know how to express how happy I am with the pisto........I am speechless.
