Fun piece.
Ran great with 9mm!
Not so much with the 22tcm set up.
First fault, I had a failure to fire. Turned out a primer blew out of the case and kept the slide from locking.
Then I had 3 or 4 failures to extract. Seems the nickel plated ammo expands too much and jams in the chamber.
I thought I had ordered brass case 22tcm but either I ordered the nickel, or they sent me the nickel case ammo by mistake. I am going to order a box or two of the brass case stuff and hopefully that will solve the issues I had.
Other than those few problems, the gun ran GREAT, and was a lot of fun at the range!

Apparently the 22tcm 9r ammo should work in my gun, so I ordered a couple of boxes of that.
We will see how that works.

(much cheaper too. :) )

I have shot buddies several times...lots of fun! I have been having fun with a custom rifle in this round.

In some old post I saw a link for the 22 TCM forum.

Doesn't look like it exists anymore? Does anyone know what happened to it?

My understanding is that nickel-plated .22 TCM cases were Armscor’s answer to brass case expansion issues ... there’s no denying nickel case expansion (below photos), but purportedly, brass case expansion was more severe. Relatedly, and perhaps not, Armscor .22TCM factory-primed brass cases cost less than a like quantity of unprimed nickel cases.

Regarding the FTEs, I’ll be curious to learn if those brass-cased rounds resolved that issue. If not, call Rock Island & they’ll make your pistol right.

Having only run nickel factory rounds & once-fired reloads through my TAC Ultra FS Combo, which as God & Samuel Colt had originally intended, is a single stack 1911 (just KIDDING!), I can’t speak to (potential) brass case issues.
