We regularly see a heads up notice about pending legislation, either pro- or anti-firearms or 2A, that could cause some to "write your Representative and Senators." One popped up today in Activism regarding the NICS Review Act, H.R. 821. If you want to know when something changes on a specific bill, such as committee assignment, hearing, vote, etc. , you can have Congress.gov send you e-mail alerts for the bill. First, create a personal account on the site at
Create an Account
(yeah, I know, another dang ID and password to remember)
Then on the page specific to the bill of interest, click on the Get alerts link just under the bill name headline.
Often it is not worth the time bothering your reps on a bill that has no real chance of moving forward. Many bills are introduced just so the member can brag at home they are "doing something."
