I can remember back prior to 1968 when Interarms and other military surplus gun dealers were advertising British Boys and Finn Lhati 20mm anti-tank rifles by mail order in Guns & Ammo and American Rifleman.
There will never be any of these things for sale to civilians here any more, the potential for some BG getting hold of one and sending high-explosive armor piercing shells at things like armored cars, police cars, fuel depots, power plants, armored limousines, etc. is just too great.

Looks like I found my next deer hunting rifle. I wonder if you shot a tracer round from end to end if it would kill and cook it all at once?

Cant believe they didn't mention the S-18/1000 Solothurn, the most accurate 20mm anti tank rifle made.

Of course 20mm is only .787 caliber...how about a .95 caliber rifle...

I can't remember what type Clint Eastwood used to blast open the vault in the movie Thunderbolt And Lightfoot, but I recall it was a semi-auto.

Grubby,

All you have to do is wrap 1/2 a roll of butcher paper around each shell, after each round is fired at the deer, it'll be cut and wrapped when you arrive!

First of all, that is not a reason to deny access to them and frankly a baseless fear. Secondly, you can buy them. They are considered destructive devices, but you can still get them with some paperwork.
