I was wondering if any of you all had good/bad dealings with Forster customer service?

First off, please don't take this as me "bad mouthing" Forster. I love their products (especially my co-ax) and things do happen.

I am having an issue with my new Co-Ax press. I noticed when I first got it, that the set screw in the handle didn't "feel" exactly right. But excited to set up the new press, I shrugged it off as a paint chip or something in the threads. Now the handle loosened up and I went to tighten it back down. That was a no go. After further inspection, I found that there was not anymore threads left for the set screw in the press handle. Looks as if the hole was drilled and tapped crooked, or the set screw was cross threaded at the factory. Just wondering how Monday is going to go. The press is less than a month old, and only has about 100 rounds loaded on it.

Things happen to all companies... none are exempt! Green, Red or what ever the color...

The simple solution would be to drill out the hole and tap it for the next larger size set screw.... it would be less of a job than boxing it up shipping back to the factory... should take less time too...

I really like my Co-Ax press too. I would go with JimKirk's suggestion. It wouldn't take very long to have the press back in action going that route. I would be surprised if Forster didn't take care of it, but I would just hate the downtime.

Clarence E Purdie in 1965 patented the co ax press.
Gopher shooter supply manufactured it.
Then Bonanza.
Then Forster.
Then the patent expired.
Forster is still makes it.
I have called Forster with design improvements for the co-ax press, but all I get it is the sweet talking girls.

I have made my own handles.
Watch the handle weight. They should balance.

Well I wanted to let you all know that I fixed my press. Easy fix and the masking tape worked like a charm for keeping the paint from chipping. On top of that, I told forster about the problem, and they took all my info and told me they would send me a catalog. I got a box in the mail, and they also sent me a hat! It was nice dealing with a U.S. based company who stands behind their U.S. made product! My hat is off to forster, literally.
