I think they picked the right writer.

Katherine Eban
o Brown University, 1989, BA; English Literature with a minor in Creative Writing
o University of Oxford, 1990, M. Phil., English Literature
o University of East Anglia, 1991, M.A., Creative Writing

Twould be interesting, when the OIG report comes out, to "fisk" Eban's article.

ADDED:
One of the first names I encountered keeping track of this issue, Tony Coulson, is not mentioned in Katherine Eban's "in-depth" article. How could one not interview other AZ federal agents active during the OF&F timeframe? Perhaps someone with degrees in Journalism, rather than Creative Writing, should have researched the Fortune article.

The DEA agent in charge in Tuscon, Tony Coulson (now retired) was widely quoted on OF&F in Feb 2012: DEA knew about Operation Fast and Furious (OF&F), ICE interdicted some OF&F gun shipments and were told to back off. They were told: ‘people above their pay grade’ had signed off on OF&F. ICE agent Ed Hamel who objected to OF&F was replaced with Layne France who cooperated with ATF on OF&F. It was obvious to DEA, ICE and FBI that ATF OF&F was allowing guns to walk.

Just another in a series of articles by Obama toadies (and possibly written by White House flacks), to provide cover for that "joined at the hip" duo, Holder and Obama.

It is all so wonderful. The noble ex-Marine fighting courageously against the drug cartels and the satanist NRA to stem the tide of evil assault weapons. He is nothing but a poster boy for the administration who seems never to have actually done anything but lobby for more laws and more power. The whistle blowers held personal grudges, had hidden agendas, were thieves, and told lies about our noble and adorable ATF icon.

Of course, any investigation of the ATF and its noble, adorable, kind, gentle, saintly leaders is a "witch hunt", egged on by the evil NRA.

The article is all crud, a sickening piece of Obamist propaganda.
