Foulton Armory or Springfield ?

I don't know about the others, but on Norinco:
1. Limited availability. Their importation has been banned.
2. Some people just object to sending money to communists.

Fulton Armory is nice, but not worth the price - and for that matter, if you are going to throw that much cash at an M14 you might as well go with an LRB.

If you can find a Norinco M14 and you don't jump at it, let me know and I will. Norinco's are pretty good rifles and can be had for a very good price (especially if you live in Canada). They are known to have occasional problems with headspace, but that is a problem that can be fixed very easily.

Also, buying a Norinco is hardly giving Communist China money, first off, these rifles have been in the country for 12+ years and the money is going to another American who previously owned the rifle - Nornico's were banned from importation years ago.

Also, if you are that worried about giving money to chinese interests, you should start whittling sticks and gathering stones to start fires as probably 85% of the goods in your house were either made in China or have Chinese made goods in them.

Not to hijack the thread, but out of curiousity why are Norinco Shotguns allowed in and not the rifles? Is the Norinco m-14 not allowed in because Norinco makes them or because of the sporting use law?

It is my understanding that the Norinco shotguns go through steps that make it where customs and the BATFE don't consider them manufactured in China.
Any firearms manufactured in CHina are not allowed into the USA.

I'd be nice if China could figure out a way to do the same with their M14s. M14s are great rifles but I think the price keeps them out of a lot of people's hands.

With my money, I went with a used Springer with (almost) all GI parts. Fulton make very good firearms, just too high-priced IMO. Lately, all the Norincos I've seen have been priced at least 75% of what a good Springfield would cost. At that price, no thanks, seen several with dangerous headspacing and soft bolts too.

I would go with LRB, Fulton and SA in that order. That is, unless you can find an older SA with all GI parts.

You also could get a Poly or Norinco, and do the bolt swap if needed. You would get a forged receiver with one of them, and upgrade to GI parts as you can afford them.

Well, sound like a good idea to use LRB, but they are out of receiver blanks apparantly and have NO idea when they will get more.

That pretty much takes care of that I guess. I tried.

Off to Fulton......

I don't think I want China importing cheap M14's or even parts for political reasons if anything else. I think the domestic manufacturers are building them about as cheap as they can with domestic labor.

Personally, I am satisfied with my SA 1911's. You get what you pay for I guess. There are certainly better models available for more money.

I have a SA standard M1A (ok, actually the has stolen it from me) and it shoots great. I paid $850 for it, including 5 mags and a bag.
That's AR territory, can't beat that.

I also have a Fulton M14 Super Scout that is a very pretty and it too shoots great (and no, the wife doesnt' get to shoot this one) and it was ummm, a lot more than $850

I'd recommend either.
I want a LRB too but they are so backed up it's not even funny.

Well, i walked into the world's best dealer (jensen arms) and it was sitting there. They get a delivery about once a month and the owner said the 3 to 5 Fultons they get (M1's and M14's) usually last about 24 hours.
But they never know what they are going to get.
