Last summer I got deathly ill and spent 3 months in the hospital. The first week I was on full life support and they called the wife twice and said I was going to die. We were about to move into this house so my wife did it with the help of her family. Once I came home in Oct. I was told the seller had no way to move his ammo (movers wouldn't take it) so he left it. I've been in no shape to go moving all the boxes blocking the cabinets where the ammo was but now the wife wants the garage cleared and I was finally able to check out the stash last night.

Don't have a final count or anything, but it looks like 1000 rds of Fiocchi 9mm (maybe more), 1500 rds of .45acp (yay), lots of .223 in boxes and loose, tons of 12ga. 00 Buck and some .308 in some kind of clips.

Also a bunch of new 7.5 Swiss brass, a brand new small range bag with NRA on the side, some .223 mags (not PMags but Olympic Arms), a Saiga 12ga. mag and some hearing muffs.

It's like Ammo Christmas here!

Glad your health is improving, and enjoy the treasure left to you by the seller. All I got when we bought our place was literally 18000 pounds of junk I had to scrap. It took me a year to get rid of it all but the price was right for the property. 20 years later I still find small bits of junk surfacing around the property.

Great to hear you're that you're up and about after your long illness. Of course you know you're doing alright when your wife puts you to work cleaning up the garage! Best of health to you and your family and enjoy your ammo windfall!

Thank you friends! All that time sick did cost me a XD45 - since the wife thought I wasn't going to make it she gave it to my friend Shawn.

I can relate to the experience of being in the hospital with an uncertain future. Congratulations on making it back.

Any chance you've heard from your friend Shawn lately?

I like fiocchi a lot too, great ammo. Sellior & Bellot or Fiocchi was all I bought before I started handloading.

Congrats on the stash, Fiocchi 230gn RN FMJ is a really nice factory load.

Thanks for the well wishes, I am mostly recovered from that episode but arthritis in my feet makes it so I can barely walk. The wife is buying a car so it's her that's clearing the garage and I just limp out now and then to see if the stash has grown lol. The last guy left the garage painted bright yellow so she's going to paint it too.

As for the heat here I don't think it hurts anything but I am going to work on moving the ammo inside regardless.

Wow! Sorry to hear about your 3 month near death experience but so happy you pulled through and proved the doctors wrong!
My wife has been nagging me to clean the garage but she refused to park in it when it was clean! Only one car fits in there now because her side of the family are using it as their warehouse. it's fun being married!

hey valkman...really glad to see you on the mend. scary stuff. how has this crisis affected your thoughts about the guns and ammo? i truly hope you can enjoy many trips to the range, but with such close calls with the Grim Reaper, i'm sure you are reshuffling your priorities. meanwhile, eat the ice cream first...life is short.

Thanks man! I still love my guns, ammo and reloading gear. I have not been shooting in some time and the way it's going I won't be able to go for a while if ever. I am mostly recovered from the hospital stay but am having serious problems with my feet - need to get that fixed up.

A century ago, most buildings and homes were not air conditioned. I'll bet people didn't throw out ammunition just because it had been stored in stuffy rooms with no climate control. The factories probably weren't any better.

I would shoot the daylights out of free ammo I found in a garage.
