I was looking on a local gun website this am and this guy had this Security-Six for sale but had no picture but it was noted close to mint. He got from his uncle who had passed and had it sitting in his safe and wanted to sell it. So I sent him a note he called me and the rest is history. I found out he was a retired. LEO so he knew his guns. Anyway the pictures don't do it justice but pretty close to mint, I am liking it. Ordered some Badger custom grips I am pretty stoked. BTW 1980 vintage.

Great looking pistol. Love mine, had some trigger work done and now it's sweet.
Like yourself I found mine used but just barely.
I'll never sell it but if I did I'd have to advertise it as "heavily used". These things are tough and made for the long haul. Enjoy.

Very nice, I wish I had bought one years back when all the sixes were cheap.

I had a Speed-Six at one time. Just like that one, except for fixed sights vs adjustable. That thing was as heavy as a hunk of railroad rail, but that really wasn't a problem back then since I had about as much chance of getting a CHP as I did of being asked to go along on an Apollo mission.

Great shooter though. You did well.

I had one in stainless with 4” barrel that was just beautiful. Unfortunately I really don’t like revolvers. I have trouble hitting the side of a barn with them. So I sold it. No regrets. But you should be very pleased. It is a great gun.

    My Uncle has a Police Service-Six with a 4" barrel I think.
Got it new and has fired a total of 6 rounds.
He still has the rest of the original box of ammo.
He isn't a gun guy, my Aunt bought it for him.
I would love to buy it but he's not selling.

Check out the Herrett Detective. It was a solution on my Security Six. If the grip extends beyond the grip frame, it is only marginally concealable.

I have two Security Six guns. Both with 4" barrels. One is a 1972 first year run made near the end of the year. There are no after market grips for it I can find. I need to get a Tyler T-Grip for it. Its a little small for my hand. But when shooting from the hip those small service style grips point really well.

The second gun was made in 1986 and is a 151 series gun. I bought a set of grips from Ruger that are like the target stocks on S%W K-Frame guns. I like 'em. Most don't know it but ther is a little difference is size from the old 150 series guns to the newer. The older guns have a smaller diameter barrel and weigh a couple ounces less. Also the latch pivot pin on the cylinder release is smaller. The one on my gun was bent. I bought a new latch and pivot from Numerich parts. I took the pivot out of the newer gun and it was bigger in size. Maybe there was a problem?

I said I wasn't going to work on these guns but I lied. I had a couple of extra main springs left over from Wolfe GP-100 spring kits and changed the main hammer spring on both guns. Boy Howdy what a difference that made. You may want to give that a thought.
