Found one that had 3 shelves of WWB 9mm FNJ 100cnt, as well as .22LR and many other calibers. Unfortunately they were out of .380

The WWB 9mm 100cnt was 19.97 and the Federal 525 value pack of .22 was 13.47. From what little I've researched ammo prices these are cheaper than the NRA range charges, and what's listed at www.amunitiontogo.com. I'm sure there are others cheaper, I just like to go and pick up a few boxes when I need them, so this works for me.

For those in the N. Va area, it's the one on Manchester blvd in Springfield, if you're interested.

Looks like range time tomorrow. :D

I think so. But I wouldnt bet on it. They did have a fair selection, it might be worth your time to go see.

I also found a Wal-Mart with a shelf packed full of 9mm and 45acp.

I went back there two days later and...

I found a Wal-Mart without any ammo.:confused::confused::confused:

There is still some 45 left only about 8-12 boxs of WWB 100 count. It took alot of control for me to leave some but I did. I just left there about 15 minutes ago it is now 1355 EST hurry the clock is ticking.

Say it ain't so! My local WallyWorld has been out of 9mm Winchester White Box for weeks now. I stop in twice a week to check. Every time they tell me it's either on order or that an order came in a day or so ago "and sold out within 15 minutes" (heard that one twice now).

Don't you hate it when some nut out there is hoarding all the ammo so that you don't get a chance to hoard all the ammo?

I went to my walmart to pick up some more Mountain dew :D and decided id see if they had any 22lr come in (completely out last time, in fact they had like 3 boxes of 12ga buckshot, and yes I bought all 3 boxes). Well the cabinet was completely full, pretty much everything in stock. SO I walked out with 3 bricks of 22lr, a bunch of 12ga buckshot and slugs, and a few boxes of 30-06 :D. Glad I was there in time to catch it.

Is it a bad thing if you go to Wal-Mart and say something to the person behind the counter about them being out of .22 ammo and he says "yeah there is a guy who come in and buy 10 boxes at a time."

EVERY WEEK, I guess he knows when their trucks come in, or he sits on the side of the road and follows them in.....there is an idea!!:D

Hello people! I am a new member and this is my first reply but I love this place so far. Makes me feel more good to hear from people who share common sense.

OK now that everybody likes me I gotta tell this about my local wally world. I usually have an extra hour or so to kill in the early mornings so a few weeks ago I visited wally world every morning for about two weeks. Now Im friends with a couple of the guys that work in the sporting good section and like to keep up with the usual gun talk and BS that goes with it. Getting to the point.... I also noticed the lack of ammo and asked if it was selling as fast as it seemed. To my surprise I was informed that they didn't order or stock much ammo at all. Wal-mart has amazing inventory managing software and politically correct or not they want to make money and selling ammo is one way they do. SO they TRY to meet demand in that particular area. And sure enuff, each Thursday for two weeks there were a few more boxes on the shelves... well at least till I got there. So from what I can gather... the more we buy.. the more they will order. And here's the funny part, if people bought enough to cause the stores to boost inventory and then stopped buying all together, the in-stock stuff left on the shelf for a bit would soon be red tagged and sold on clearance. I saw it happen first hand a year or so ago with 223 wsm. and 243 wsm.
Ok so enuff from little ole me. oh and one other thing.... walking into wal-mart at a quarter till 8 every morning and heading straight to the ammo counter, staring at the prices and buying a box or two every day for two weeks is a sure fire way to get on some kinda watchlist.

Sorry wife, spent $200 today
LOL

Same here, but my walmart guy is a retired marine, nice guy, totally gets the hoarding ammo thing.:)

He tells me when "stuff" is coming in and what other stores have what I'm looking for.

Wal-Mart here seems to be low on ammo. Every once in a while I will get there when they have just gotten some in but it doesn't seem to last long. I've not had a huge problem finding .22 ammo in general but I did have a little bit of a problem finding the .22 ammo I wanted. My 10/22 likes the Winchester Xpert stuff and I've had trouble finding that or most bulk packs. I've found Remington bulks at one store and Federal bulk packs at our local store but for some reason the Federal's jam in my gun. I have some at home already and don't care to buy more of it. The Game Shok and Champion Federal seems to work better.

Any popular ammo like 30-06, 9mm, .45acp, .270, .243 seems to be pretty hard to find and if you do find it seems like you have to buy what they have and you can't be picky about brands.

I just bought .38 special at Walmart, while hunting for their Mossberg 500s. I didn't find the Mossy, and ended up with another Maverick 88 from a different shop, but I bought 600 rounds of .38 spl from Wally world.

I had a problem with Federal's value pack of ammo as well. No problem with jamming for me but it seemed like some of the ammo didn't have enough powder or something. 2 out of every 8 or so shot 10in. low at 60yds and sounded like it was subsonic loads. I contacted federal and they had me send it in for testing (I paid for shipping). I told them I didn't want the same crappy ammo, so federal told me if I paid for shipping sending them my ammo that they would send me match grade ammo. They sent me back 1400 rounds of there match grade ammo!
By the way, I was thinking the problem was with my gun but CCI worked perfectly through my marlin 25n.

Ya know, it's hilarious. Everybody's saying that all of America's guns and ammo are being smuggled to Mexico.

Couldn't prove it to me! All of the stores down here are full of ammo, and the dreaded EBRs are on the shelves as well (although they're even more expensive than usual).

The only things you can't find are .380 ammo (popular on both sides of the border) and small rifle primers.

I saw this ammo shortage coming and I started stocking up last summer. I presently have 32 surplus military 50 cal ammo boxes full of assorted ammo. At least 500 rounds of JHP for each caliber, but mostly 9MM and 40 cal FMJ.

A local Wally has 1000's of rounds of .223 Federal value pack, plenty of 30-30,.308 Federal,CCI .40,multiple choices of .22 and .270,.243,22-250,300 win mag,.44mag and more and after a week it is still there,I know because I went back just to see.I didn't buy it,well except 60 rds of the .308.They still don't have popular handgun calibers but they will at some point..

Let the flow come back, the price will drop......
