As I was eating lunch the restaurant had FOX news on and they were reporting the guilty verdict in the "Beltway Sniper" trial ( I hate that term)

Glad he was found guilty, now we await sentencing.

But as I watched they had people give "Victims impact statements"

These were relatives of those killed or wounded. One lady said "....I hope America wakes up to the gun violence. We should not be selling military weapons to civilians...." (May not be verbatim, but close)

I'm sorry for her loss. But thanks for ruining lunch.

Yeah, those guys who fire one shot and move on are would have been at a REAL disadvantage if they had to use a bolt-action rifle.

I just wish people would realize that we can't PREVENT crime and keep our freedom. Then again, maybe they would be willing to submit to random searches and constant surveillance so they would FEEL safe.
