What's the skinny on the Franklin Armory AR15 lowers? Does anyone have any PERSONAL knowledge concerning the quality?

A local outfit has about 30 of these lowers in stock. They're going for $139 each, which in this environment is a steal. Just to have that kind of stock seems nuts. BUT, I don't want to invest in crap....so give me your opinions.

Thanks............

Consider that if it is forged, they probably don't "make" their own lowers. They probably buy them from the same manufacturer as do many other distributors. That said, from what I've read, as long as the lower is forged aluminum of the proper material (7075 t6) I believe, and its milled to mil-spec, with a warranty, I wouldn't worry. Their billet lower looks nice and has some nifty features, but at $480, its unspectacular. I personally wouldn't have anything to do with a company based in California, manufacturing California compliant receivers, not when you can get essentially the same product that hasn't been neutered, elsewhere, for less money....but I don't live in California.

$130... thats a decent price for a forged lower but not incredible. I just picked up a CMT billet lower and a DTI lower for $220 and $120, respectively, and I wouldn't consider those to be great prices either...particularly that DTI lower.

I agree that if the Franklin Armory lower is milspec 7075 it's probably all right. I would push a PMAG in the magwell and make sure it doesn't hang up. It should drop free. I also look for flared magwells but that isn't absolutely required.
