Seriously.. looking for guns, made by different makers with the same design. We can skip the 1911's if at all possible..

I'm talking Beretta / Taurus 92/96's, or CZ 40B/S&W 40Z was it? LCP and P3AT...

Here be mine.

IMG_20120609_174401.jpg

The 96 is going to look a lot more like the taurus in a bit. It's getting a new hammer, sear, sear spring, and retention pin.. making it DA/SA.

Nice combo, scythe--I am jealous! Unfortunately, I have nothing to contribute to this thread.

The next pistol on my list is a 92FS/M9 (I go back and forth as to which one, on a daily basis). Nice bluing on your '92.

I generally do not like DAO pistols, nor compact versions of full-sized pistols, but somehow I have a fascination with Centurion Ds--there is just something sleek and streamlined about them that draws me. I think it may have made it onto my list as well...

Since CZ made the 40B and also made it for Colt, only need one pic:D Wish I had the $$Colt$$ version along with it, as I here the triggers are nicer yet, but this 40B has the best DA trigger I have ever felt on a CZ!

Ash... Definitely knew that. I had a rami-p in 40S&W. If I could find a regular 2075 in 9mm...id be all over it.

String..thats the taurus. Few differences, frame moumtd ambi safety, different mag release, havent done a detailed strip to check everything yet. The centurian is anything but compact. Go ahead and get the dao beretta...they are usually way cheaper, and the effort required to changw them to da/sa is minimal. 11 bucks for a sear, 1 dollar for the sear spring, 2 dollars for the pin, and 19 - 54.dollars for tje hammer depending in which one you get. Takes about 10 minutes the first time.

Exact numbers for ya string...

Sear $10.71
Sear Spring $1.10
Sear Pin $1.38
Hammer $18.11 (there are a lot of other hammers avail if you want, they can get as high as $57.00)

SIG P229R and SIG P228. 229 is topped with a Burris Fastfire III. 228 has G-10 grips.

SIGs228229b.jpg

The 228 was made by the SIGARMS company, in Germany. The 229 is a US made SIG Sauer (to comply with the thread request). :)

Plus don't you have to do some hole punchin' on the slide? That's the part that would worry me.

But to be specific, I want them both. I want a 92FS AND a Centurion D. ;)

String, nope. There is what.. 3 pins to remove. You do a field strip. Take off the grips. Remove the mainspring (pin #1, a 2mm allen wrench works great), remove the hammer (pin #2, removable by hand), and then apply pressure to the sear spring, and remove both (pin #3, back to your 2mm allen wrench).

day.. yeah.. those are sibling pairs, older and younger.. I'm more looking for twins with different fathers.. as impossible as it is.

Like FM hipowers and FN hipowers. At least they've avoided the rediculous amount of 1911's that could be posted in here.

Everybody and their mother make 1911's. The design is pretty much public domain at this point. I'm looking for something a little less common. Something that not every gun owner can go out an buy in less than an hour at just about any gun store in any town in the US. Besides, there are enough threads dedicated to showing off your 1911's.. time to see the rest of the gun world. Personally, I don't like em. Now, specifically to your example of 2 1911, yup bout as similar as my two. Just about every part is interchangable. The slide parts are about the only things that don't directly swap? They are even more compatible than my two... but they are also something you see every day.

The beretta design.. only made by 2 companies ever. Hell, I'd love to see a pic of a chippea rhino and a mateba 6 unica... Ooohhh, a fie titan 25 acp and a heritage arms H25...

Nope. Beretta, Taurus, ATI, Stoeger, Vektor, Helwan, Khyber.

Even Chiappa if you count the .22lr version.

They're made on 5 different continents!

NOW can I post my internal vs external extractor 1911's?

Huh?
Assuming you mean the 92 series, because it's what you posted, 4 come to mind immediately.

Beretta, Taurus, ATI/MKEK Yavuz, and Helwan. Any others?

I stand corrected. What models of the ATI, Stoeger, Vektor, Helwan, and Khyber are beretta 92 clones? First I'd heard of them.

KC - you still seem to be ignoring the whole "we can skip 1911's". I'm not sure if you're trying to troll, or if you really can't seem to understand that I don't want pics of 1911's. I've seen more 1911's than I care to honestly. Held more than I needed just to find out I don't like em. Fired enough of em to verify I don't like em. I'm interested in the other clones out there. If you honestly have nothing else to offer but asking if you can now add 1911 pics after I stated I didn't want them in this post and hinted at it in two different posts.. you're more than welcome to just stop posting in this thread.

Stoegers.. made by beretta.. different roll mark.

Really? You mean when I posted the pictures of the 1911s?

Jeez, I was just cracking a joke, pokin a little fun, and pointing out that while you seem to think the 1911 is an overproduced design, really, so it the Beretta.

I was also pointing out that all 1911's aren't exactly the same, and some of the small differences in them are interesting. But that's just my opinion.

kc - I haven't seen the pics yet.. filtered by work.

I don't think it's an overproduced design. They are a design that I dont like. It doesn't fit me. They sell well, I'd expect them to be produced out the yin yang. I just have 0 interest in them. The beretta, while still produced a lot more than I had thought, still isn't produced on near the same scale. You won't see them in every gun store, in multiples on any give day of the week.

Humor doesn't come through in text. From this side of the monitor, all I see is someone repeatedly asking to post pics in direct contrast to what the author of the thread asked. I can't hear the sarcastic tone playing through your head when you type it. I can't see the smirk. Subtle humor is very difficult to catch. Had I seen it in person, I might have found it humorous, or just annoying.

Yes, I understand the designs aren't exactly the same. No different than an internal extractor BHP and an external extractor BHP. Or a series 70 vs. series 80, or a pre series 70.

ATI

Helwan

To the best of my knowledge, Stoeger doesn't make a 92 clone. But there they do make a Cougar clone, and if I'm not mistaken it's with Beretta's old machinery.
