EDIT: Let's avoid loadedc language. I'm in favour of certain flags, even, but if you start throwing around loaded language it's one's own fault for not realizing what they were deploying rather than the audience's fault for failing to parse the message. I really, really, try hard to avoid describing my solutions to chronic societal problems as "final" solutions, or as leading to a "pure" society for example. That said, treating the enemy with respect out of some ill-advised theory that they'll respect us if we respect them is foolhardy.

Some of them seem to have forgotten that hunting takes place in Germany.

But extremely strict German regulations require costly classes on gun theory, then practice, and the fact that almost all gun owners (rifles) must shoot at a range does Not mean that the population is "pro-gun".

No handguns are allowed, and rifle ammo (even the rifles?) must be stored Inside the gun club.
Plenty of US gun owners want such steel-fisted regulations to be the norm in the US? We returned in May from Franconia (Franken).
The UK is almost as severe, and these situations seem fairly typical of many countries.

How many times have we heard "hunters want gun control" or This or that "Dealer" thinks stricter regulations are a good idea. Infiltrating and trying to destroy us from within, is the most recent tactic by the anti-gun zealots. We should recognize them for what they are and do everything we can to counter this type of propaganda

Have you ever stopped to think about how those kind of statements look to the majority of voters that have no strong opinion on guns?

Regulating private sales does nothing because a criminal will ignore the law and purchase privately (albeit illegally) anyway.

The won't make a purchase in the legal private market. Law abiding gun owners won't sell the gun to a prohibited person without the required background check. Background checks on private sales closes another sales channel to prohibited persons trying to buy a gun

Registration does nothing because the criminal will still purchase privately.

Records of background checks and sales makes it easier for law enforcement to find people that make straw purchases for prohibited people.
